"Splash" appreciation thread

It seems like we have forgotten all about this song, at least no one's mentioned it in a while. A slight Caribbean feel, complete with the appropriate "psychedelic" feel that goes with the theme. Well-thought arrangements, positive vibe. Summer music with an avant-garde artistic edge, I know that's exactly how you all want your summer!

LOVE it. It's THE song from NPGMC that I cherish more than any of the others.

I remember getting this song when I first signed up on NPGMC and just drooling for the rest of Roadhouse Garden which, of course, never happened. It's such a cool and different sounding song, just like most of the stuff W&L&P were doing at the time. cool

I like it for that light, airy, warm feeling it gives, but this
song isn't especially amazing to me.

I'll give it another listen now biggrin
If you will, so will I

The chorus makes the whole song.

Groovy song...
"A united state of mind will never be divided
The real definition of unity is 1
People can slam their door, disagree and fight it
But how U gonna love the Father but not love the Son?
United States of Division"

I know what you mean, man. It was like, 4 years ago , or someting when i first heard this song. That intro kicked in and I knew I was in for a treat. Although , the ending leaves me wanting more, because it ends so funky, I wish I could have had more of that, as well. TooFunky

Great song. I remember being amazed the first time I heard this song. It's has such a great laid back quality to it.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
