Does anyone ever get TIRED OF PRINCE????

I know we all listen to Prince all the time. I know he has so many songs that it is tough to play one of them out, but does anyone ever get tired of Prince???

Like, do you ever just need to take a few days off of listening to him?

Peace
the VILLE
I Just Heard the "Question of U" for the 1st time...MY GOD that is an awsome song. That is #1 right now. I gotta go & listen 2 it again! WoW!

Days?? I take months off--but when he tours etc. it gets me back in the Prince groove again. Like lately.

Prince music is like crack (not that I would know eek !!!).
I actually try to convince myself NOT 2 listen 2 him for a couple of days, but it never goes down like that. I throw in somebody else's CD, get incredibly bored with it after, say, 3 listens, then throw on INTERACTIVE!!! That leads 2 The Space, that leads 2 The Question of U and it's all downhill from there. big grin

I might take a few days off from listening, a few weeks at the most, but that's about it. Someone else mentioned they get back into the groove when he tours. I do that too. I went to the Oakland ONA concert about 2 1/2 weeks ago, and Prince has not left my CD player. There are so many different CD's of his to choose from, so that makes for a lot of variety.

Lord, I'm glad others go through the kind of hell I do. I listen to only Prince for days, then suddenly feel quite sick of it all. I then listen to a CD or two by another artist and then I've got the hunger again!

I sometimes feel it's almost like a prison which I kind of want to escape from... but kind of don't! AARRRGGGGHHHH!!! Let me go!!

Sometimes I get tired, and put some nice brazilian music to relax, specially Tom Jobim, Baden Powell and Djavan

yea there are times when i listen to nothing but him. but then you need to broaden it alittle and take a break. sometimes i go months before listening again. its hard his music is addicting. then i can't wait for something new. it is an neverending circle.

To tell you the truth, if I stop playing the CD's that I do have to listen to some hip-hop for a day or two, a song of Prince just hits me that I just have to listen to. I haven't heard all his songs, I'm still discovering all of his music, but when I get hooked on a song or a CD, I'll hear it for a week straight or more. Right now, I'm stuck on disc 3 on the B-sides and have been playing it for the past 2 weeks or so...I change my favorite song all the time!

I wouldn't say I get "sick" of Prince, but after awhile, I need something else. I also go into big listening sprees of Eurythmics, The Cure and Bjork.

No need really, since there is no single artist I listen to everyday or all the time. Not even Prince.

I tend to tire of the man much faster than the music. But yes, there are a world of other talented musicians out there worth listening to. Prince isn't the beginning, middle & end of music for me.

LOL.....ville went from askin questions like, "What's the best Prince album to buy?", "What's SOTT like?".....to "Is anyone else tired of Prince music?".....all within a couple of months time. LOL OD'd on his music, eh?

Prince is like fine wine, u gotta sip it.....u treated his music like tequila shots!!
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

No because, the quantity and variety of music he has, always seems to keep him new. If you have the bulk of his albums; you have music that spands over 2 decades, not to mention the bootlegs and stuff. I might get tired of a particular album, move on to another one.

I have taken about a year off before. I haven't listened to Prince for a couple of months now either. I checked The Rainbow Children out for about a week and haven't listened since.

There was a time when a new Prince CD would be in the player for a month or more...

I got tried and took 5 years off...lol.
I go thru phases; sometimes I'll listen to nothing but prince for a week and for the next 2 weeks I won't listen to him at. There is plenty of other music out there besides prince.

I could never "tire" of his music. No two songs are the same. I get tired of listening to others because there is no imagination. Most artist stick with one sound and everyting sounds the same. Prince has never been that way. Every song on every CD/Album is different from all the others.
