I have noticed that so many people here dont care for that album while I think it is some of his best work. The only song I dont like on there is "My name is Prince" Apart from that I love all the songs and think the lyrics are so inspired,intresting and poetic. The whole thing just flows for me.
I also love the gold album. ( especially shhhhh and I hate you)

I always thought this was a pretty good album. Unfortunatly (as I tend to date periods of my life to Prince albums) this was the album that I listened to during a turbulant time in my life. (damn bit** broke my heart) so this album hardly gets listened to...The Continental was a hella dance song!!

Prolly cuz it holds a good memory though. He came out to it at his concert last year, my first one, in Columbus. The lights went down, and on came My Name Is Prince

Wishuhvn, that's a coincidence! I too love this album, and listened to it during a VERY rough time in my life.

At the time it came out, my parents divorced (after 30 years), we moved twice in 4 months, my dog died, my car finally gave up on me, and while living in an apartment (between homes), we got robbed.

Yes, this is a great album! I also like watching the accompanying video collection . . .

It is my fav. album, My best songs, My Name Is Prince, 3 Chains o Gold, The Max, 7, The Sacrifice Of Victor, overall it is a classic album. Very creative and diverse.

I LOVE every damn Prince album (except TRC) is no exception, I played the hell out of it. I own like 3 or 4 different versions of it.

I love this album, my mother bought it for me at Christmas 1992 and I played it on christmas, fond memories.

Well glad to see so many people really adore this album ,but personally I don't. However in my best of compilation always 'sexy mf'for the nice flow ,for the rest nothing special on that album. I gave this album enough time to let it come to me but it never came. Maybe the album would appear on my list of worst albums made by Prince.Maybe i touch some feelings but remember ,it is all a matter of taste.

the "o+>" is a classic 2 me ,better than "diamonds and pearls"!

It was the first Prince album I bought. I bought it because I couldn't find a Sexy MF single. I fell in love with the whole thing. I think '3 chains of gold' is one of his greatest works among 'Condition of the heart' 'The lovesexy LP' 'In a large room with no lights' and 'Rebirth of the flesh'

No, I think it is brilliant...and the sound is awesome. Best listened to with headphones (like most of Prince's music, lol)
