Kind of boring, but it's solid enough overall.

It's ok just, the thrill has worn off a bit. Am digging Supercute most from all the new tracks.

I listen to it fairly frequently. Personally I dig the album, though I do have to skip "Life 'O' The Party" which just does nothing for me.

There are some classic lines on the album.

"Don't you touch that stereo...." (it's all about the delivery!) biggrin

"Boy, I was fine back in tha day"

"Remember all the way back in tha day... When we would compare whose afro was the roundest?"

These little touches really stick out.

Musicology may not be the greatest album ever but in a few years time I'm sure that many naysayers will be reassessing their views...

I still dig Musicology. I still think it's a fun and entertaining set of songs for the pop masses. Even though he wasn't trying to break new ground, who cares? It's still fun to listen to, and the musicianship is spot-on too. nod

I'm happy for Prince that it was a hit, and got alot of new fans, but it's dull for a Prince album.
Goodnight, sweet Prince.

I still dig Musicology. It's a great CD that was perfect for the time that it was released. And it's a great CD to let those who aren't into Prince listen to. All my friends who aren't into Prince have dug this CD so Prince got his point across in reaching out to the masses.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

...i agree with you...a lot of his real followers think it is an average album by prince (i think it is ok but not great) but i think he made this album to pull in people who are not fans or who used to be fans. it is a straight forward pop album for people with small brains. we all know he can do a lot better. wink

No no no no no! So much better than Batman. I'm in my waiting-for-the-next-round-so-I-hate-this-one phase, but I'm still dead on it that this is his best in in a decade.

I'm still listening to it. It is in the 10 CD changer in the car. Mind U, I still have 2 Christmas albums in there, too! (seriously...)

Aside from in the car, I do still listen to it. Just loaded it into my brand new IPOD shuffle, to take to the gym.

Dull for a Prince album?? You just described most of the 90's releases then lol

I still listen to Musicology a lot and love it. It's just what I needed after the deep message of TRC.
Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.
