at a Prince concert, do you still...

wave your arm side to side on Purple Rain?
flick your lighter (or flash your cell phone) on Purple Rain?
Hand sign to I Would Die 4 U?
Jump up and down when Prince says do it?
Soul Clap?

What a topic, lol. Yes to all of the above. I'm just crazy like that I guess.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

i've never done any of that, but i do remember the very first time i seen 'im in an actual concert (during the hit & run tour in 2001) during "pr" folks had their bics flicked and their cell phone lights waving n'everything...it was really strange. eek

i'm not big on audience participation, really. i was a little bit more so when i went to the prince shows last year, but i hate that feeling that you gotta do some dumb body gesture just cuz the people on stage are tellin' ya to. i have no problem with being a party pooper, especially when someone's telling me to 'woof'.

there were times last summer where, admittedly, being lucky enough to be in front row, i was scurrda what would have happened if i didn't do all the audience participation-y things that he barked out - though even then, i'm sorry, if he tells us to start doing the wooden leg or whatever and then he breaks into a crazy guitar solo, he better just expect me to be frozen in my tracks, happily slackjaw and drooling, i don't care if i'm standing between cat and the squirrel-meat guys and they're holding a jump rope in front of me.

Of COURSE I do this stuff! That's part of what makes the concerts fun. Heck, my hubby and I make t-shirts for every concert. In fact, I'm wearing his One Night Alone personalized T right now. It has a prince symbol and says "Rainbow Child". I'm a big ol' dork, but I'm havin' fun!

I'm not a person who dances or shakes his ass: when I go to a show, I stand and watch. I might tap my toe to the beat at the most.

When I went to the ONA show in my town, some middle-aged guy in the front row actually did get singled out by Prince: he was just standing around with his hands in his pocket, so Prince said something like "What's the matter grandpa, too tired to dance?" It wasn't mean-spirited or anything, but I would have felt pretty mortified if I'd been in that situation.

Ofcourse.

But then again, I see Anxiety doing "The Bird", "The Horny Pony" and "Jughead", so I suppose waving my arm to purple rain aint' so bad.

It's funny, I'm a pretty good dancer. Yet when I'm at a Prince concert, I'm so paying attention to the music and whats happenin' on the stage, I can't keep my frickin rhythm. I catch myself clappin off beat. I think to myself "wtf", am I losing my mojo? What if I get called on stage? eek

I'm a sucker for audience participation but only at a Prince concert. I hate it when performers yell at the audience "to throw their hands up" or "make some noise". Prince is much more creative. I admit I have screamed his name when he asked in concert, "what's my name?" or repeated his signature "OUUWA" I loove when he does that.

YES!! At every show. Even when I was tired.

I think he should come out with a workout tape...the concert was a great cardio workout.

i go 2 the concert 2 dance, shout and make noise, personally i dig audience participation and admit 2 being putty in P's hand when he calls out something 2 do. I do get annoyed tho when some1 behind yells 2 sit down and stuff like that, my general reaction is "fuck off and move" but hey, thats just my lovely self lol
