I do all of them and add cry. that's comin from a dude. Oh well, who says guys can't cry. Prince concerts are like a religious experience for me. I used to detest the thought of audience participation, but now I like the idea of how it makes the entertainer feel. He's up there givin his heart and soul, so should we. The way I see it the more the audience gives the better it makes the entertainer feel and therefore your working yourself up a better concert. It's give and take.

P.S. I thought the mods on here with all there infinite wisdom would be a little more enthusiastic at shows. Sounds like y'all are a bunch of squares. (probably a good comment for me to make if I wanna get kicked off here!) lol

Of course! That's part of what going to a Prince concert is all about. However, I don't flick my bic cause I don't smoke and don't carry one around with me, but I do clap and wave my arms lol

Audience participation is important at any show, I can't stand folks who act like they are too good to hoot and holler and like a fool, no one should feel embarassed cause no ones watching you, everyones eyes are on the performer.

how th' hell you expect we got all that wisdom? we gotta keep still and actually pay attention so we can remember what the heck happened during the whole thing. can't really do that if you're wavin around n'shit. contrary to popular belief, if it weren't for those who stay sane in their seats at a show, you wouldn't have anybody who could come up with a concise report for those unable to attend one.

[b]HELL Yeah!![b]
Even when I went to the live simulcast of the first concert of the Musicology tour.
Speaking of that particular show. . .when is he going to put out a DVD of the M tour???!!

I can really identify with the one dude who was saying that all he could do during the guitars solos ans such was to stand there slack jawed. That was me in the 2nd row on Aug 22nd in Philly.

anxiety, don't do anything you don't want to do. just don't get annoyed w/those of us who do because i'm big on audience participation and there's hardly anything more annoying than someone who's not participating but passing judgement at the same time. i mean, damn, why did you show up then?

you can dress up like a chicken and turn cartwheels for all i care! lol

i'm just sayin' i plan on enjoying shows in my own way, and i don't like feeling pressured to join in on audience participation stuff. i go to shows to watch the entertainers entertain me, not to entertain the entertainers. eff that.

and i can give you a list of resources that'll tell ya i'm far from a bump on a log at a prince show - start with TheOrgerFormerlyKnownAs. lol

I can't help but to do all that. I wave my arm to Purple Rain AND light my cell phone.
I also do the hand movements to I Would Die 4 U.
and I dance almost the entire time, unless he sits and does an acoustic set.
People who just sit there the whole time seem boring.
