eye wonder if this is a new direction for Prince. He has been working with a band for much of this year; maybe now he is back to a one man band. All instruments & vocals by Prince.

As much as he's worked the band this year, it would be no surprise to me for him to have let the band go their ways on their own projects. This would allow him to get back into a "creation mode", going by his record-anytime, day or night, scheme. Nothing new about the direction, IMO.

like much of musicology for example:

million days and illusion coma - these songs sound like re-writes of ideas from bygone days. not to mention the MGGMC club offerings in the first coupla years. you wanna tell me he wrote 'my medallion' while studying at the kingdom hall? lol

What a great song BUT, 2004? This song sounds like is directly from the Slaughterhouse / Chocolate Invasion stuff. Am I the only one that hears this?

Once again, great song! I just wish it was in better quality.

Peace all

Well, I think that period was the return to the Prince we all knew and loved, especially with songs like Silicon.

Makes me even more curious to hear it now. Wish my computer was fast enough to hear more than five seconds of it at a time. sad

Coudln't the date refer to when it was last touched? Even tho it's called a "demo" P is notorious for tinkering with recordings. Couldn't he have taken a Slaughterhouse-era song, added, say, real drums and some guitar and called it a 2004 recording?

What a jerkoff

If you READ the post above yours it says the guys an NPGMC member. He was asking how to get the MP3 file (which someone answered sensibly later)

yes! that very well could be the case! Vocal sound and layering are JUST LIKE slaughterhouse and sex me, sex me not...the drums? a toss up... the guitar solo? if anything was added it was this solo, sounds almost out of place on this song as if it was added at a much later date. It is a rippin solo though! Love it. biggrin
