Very Interesting.

I'd like one of those test pressings!

I've always wanted to hear Father's Song done right.
It's a shame P.R. can't embrace the past a bit and release a proper score
from Purple Rain since it won a Grammy and all.

I wonder if Electric Intercourse was supposed to be on there?
And All Day and Night?

'Electric Intercourse' was originally going to be in Purple Rain,
but it was replaced by 'The Beautiful Ones'.

Also, 'G-Spot' was going to be on there too,
but it was replaced by 'Darling Nikki'.

All Day, All Night was written after Purple Rain was completed,
so was never considered for inclusion.

Don't forget to add

1996 - : New World (assembled album, unreleased)- This is the clump of outtakes that are listed as Emancipation outtakes, but are in reality an album called New World. At the same time, Prince did an additional album but I don't recall it's name. They were both assembled at the same time for release at the same time.
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

The Time: Corporate World Sep. 1989
Set for release inNov. 14th 1989 in this order:

Murph Drag
Nine Lives
Donald Trump (Black Version)
Love Machine
Data Bank
Shake!
Corporate World
The Latest Fashion
Rwelease It
My Summertime Thang

Is it really likely that Latest Fashion and Summertime Thang would ever have been considered to be included on the same album? It's basically the same song with different lyrics! Unless one of them is an alternate version, which is possible...

You're right, there is an alternative version - of The Latest Fashion.

The released version on GB is based on the same backing music as My Summertime Thang (which I think also dates back to '83 if memory serves).

U Gotta Shake Something was not placed on any known configuration of the Flesh LP.

Whispers & Echo's was a rumour/joke Prince stated after Diamonds & Pearls, hence the title, it was never a title of a project.

What about the Erotic City dance project? The Track list must pre date Ulysesses.

Also, what shall we refer to the band from 93-96? This is the band many say was the best NPG linup, yet the band actually state they were formed after the NPG was broken up (see NPG magazine). So by their own definition, they were not the NPG. So what were they?

Just thought I'd throw a couple of boomerangs in there for us! lol

Far as I know, Prince DID take them off his "pay roll", but that didnt mean they werent still called the NPG. He still calls them the NPG to this day even though there are entirely different members...there is no name to the New Power Generation band...it is just whomever is on Prince's pay roll who's part of the band.

that's not a tracklisting of any configuration of Emancipation. it is merely a listing of known outatkes or alt versions of songs from Emancipation. all can be found on the Sabatoge bootleg the Secret Chapter.

That was actually a configuration of an album that was to be titled "New World". Some of the songs made it on to Emancipation, but it was never actually considered to be part of Emancipation from what I understand.

Apologies if this shows up my ignorance but were are the following from; any clues is much appreciated:

* Hypno Paradise (funky, ultra-produced modern track; I expect 2002+)
* Lips 2 Find U (instrumental ballad with effects-laden keys)
* R U Horny - note: this may not be a Prince song; it has all the hallmarks but the vocals appear somewhat different.
* 51 Hours
* A Better Place 2 Die
* Blue
* Silicon(e)
* Broken
* Vavoom

Ta chiefs. wink

* Hypno Paradise - 1998, it was played live on the NPS Tour in Europe a few times I think, and was made for download in the first year of the NPGMC, then placed on the download 'album' The Slaughter House (available over at NPGMC)

* Lips 2 Find U - Fake - This is the title of a Teena Marie track (from Emerald City) - which has nothing to do with Prince.

* R U Horny - Fake

* 51 Hours - Officially released as a rare promo 12" in 1992, recorded with Diamond & Pearl (the dancers)

* A Better Place 2 Die - Incorrect title for 'Moonbeam Levels' from 1982, unreleased from 1999 Sessions.

* Blue - Probably 'Get Blue' from 1991, released officially by Louie Louie, Prince's version unreleased.

* Silicon - released 2000 NPGMC Year One download, then placed on the download 'album' The Slaughterhouse

* Broken - 1980, Unreleased.

* Vavoom - released 2000, NPGMC Year One download, then placed on the download 'album' The Chocolate Invasion (available over at NPGMC)

Hey NouveauDance, here's a few more for your delectation and consideration:

* Its a Wonderful Day - Beat funk pop duet (predominantly female voxs)
* Girl o' My Dreams - harmonica-laden cheeky romp
* In A Large Room With No Light - Sounds Dream Factory-era; mad drums!
* Storm - Samba beat with bluesy-Isley Bros guitar (may be fake)
* Peace - Proper jive-funk - sounds pretty up-to-date
* Sexual Suicide - was this an 80s b-side - apologies its been a long day
* One Song - spiritual ballad; again me suspects this an NPGMC release
* Jammin 4 U - again could be fake - its a funky bass-led slap funk ditty, does sound like Prince - but of course its meant to be!
* Get Blue - pretty naff slow number sounds early 90s
* G Spot - Nasty grinder; with duel vocals and female harmonies & peverse synths!
* Asswoop - Throwaway bluesy jam with cheap jazz bits thrown in for good measure (7 minutes plus) - sound of Prince workin in his sleep
-----
A non-Prince song which is rather intriguing is called Number One which samples Prince (think New Power Generation) and contains a female hip-hop power-style rap - sample lyric (chorus) 'I'll be number one or I'll be nothing at all' - quite a poor song to be frank; but interesting nonetheless.
-----
Ooooh and also I've got a mad extended rendition of Computer Blue - which is splendierous - just thought I'd share that - its got extra verse and heavy drums and rough vocals - tremendous stuff!
-----

That should keep you going for oooh two and half minutes!

Out-take from The Dream Factory, placed on an early version, '86

* Girl o' My Dreams - harmonica-laden cheeky romp

From the Dream Factory stage musical project from '86 - recorded live with The Revolution along with Can't Stop This Feeling I Got, We Can Funk (second version) - and Data Bank also I think

* In A Large Room With No Light - Sounds Dream Factory-era; mad drums!

Yep, 1986

* Storm - Samba beat with bluesy-Isley Bros guitar (may be fake)

Make It Through The Storm from 1977, officially released by Sue Ann Cartwell

* Peace - Proper jive-funk - sounds pretty up-to-date

Official release through NPGMC Year One Downloads, credited to NPG

* Sexual Suicide - was this an 80s b-side - apologies its been a long day

1985 Parade out-take, officially released on Crystal Ball

* One Song - spiritual ballad; again me suspects this an NPGMC release

1999 (98?) Track which first appeared on the L4OA website as a streaming audio/video - I don't think there is any other version that didn't come from this original real audio/video file

* Jammin 4 U - again could be fake - its a funky bass-led slap funk ditty, does sound like Prince - but of course its meant to be!

This might have another name, or may be a fake - The name is familiar as a 1983/4 track, but I can't remember what other title it might have gone by, or if this is a fake

* Get Blue - pretty naff slow number sounds early 90s

Answered that one above

* G Spot - Nasty grinder; with duel vocals and female harmonies & peverse synths!

1983 out-take, placed on early version of PR, replaced by Darlin' Nikki, later officially released by Jill Jones in 1987

* Asswoop - Throwaway bluesy jam with cheap jazz bits thrown in for good measure (7 minutes plus) - sound of Prince workin in his sleep

From the 2nd Madhouse '24' album, from 1993. (See the first post of this thread for the complete tracklist to 24 [i] from 1988 and 24 [ii] from 1993 - Same name, different albums.

Number One by Robin Power (Morris' scary butch girlfriend in Graffiti Bridge, from 1990

Ooooh and also I've got a mad extended rendition of Computer Blue - which is splendierous - just thought I'd share that - its got extra verse and heavy drums and rough vocals - tremendous stuff!

There are several versions and edits of Computer Blue, sound like you have the longest version - with the hallway speech
