Hey...wasn't Purple Rain was originally a double LP? Isn't it available in extremely limited quantities as a double LP import acetate pressing? Doesn't this mean there be more tracks listed for Purple Rain?

I don't know if that is true or not but I've seen something on ebay which was a 3 or 4 record japan relesse only to go with the relesse of purple rain the movie.
If I can remember, it had all the songs from the film (that were relessed) plus some kind of hits collection. It looked very very nice and if I ever win the lottery I'm gonna buy it. It was selling for about £400 ($700?).

The person who had/has this has a shop on ebay called 'recka stoe'( as in the UTCM joke) ... or whatever... perhaps someone else can give you more info because this is all I remember... apart from wonting it!!!

I think you are referring to the double LP called "Strange Tales From The Rain" which as far as I know was an incredibly overpriced bootleg of the entire Purple Rain LP as we know it plus the tracks from The Time and Apollonia 6 that are in the movie.....nothing to get really excited about!

'Strange Tales From The Rain' was an official promo Japanese double album.
It had all the tracks from Purple Rain, plus some b-sides, the tracks by
Apollonia 6 and The Time that were in the movie, plus a load of old 'classic'
tracks as well as The Glamorous Life by Sheila E. It changes hands for silly
money, and is a quite nice rare item, but there's nothing on it that isn't
available elsewhere.

Is there any truth to the Tales From An Electric Sun album-rumor from 1996/1997?

Or the tracklist going around at the same time as The Vault in 1996, inluding Laurianne, Something Funky This House Comes, Strange Things Happen In Puerto Rico, People Without and many others? I'd assumed this one was fake until The Vault was released in 1999 with the exact same tracklisting that was posted at the same time as this one.

And the 'techno' album New World, from 1996 (including, presumably, New World)?

Or the party album that Mr. Happy was intended for before he included it on Emancipation?

How about The Tora Tora Experience?

Or the 1989 Madhouse album including the tracks Uno, Dos, Tres, Quatro?

Or Brass Monkey?

The so called 'Fuck Mix' is actually just the album version.
(I have no idea what possessed them to call it that, but there ya go)

There's just not enough info known to say much about these projects,
but here's what little info there is...

According to Madhouseman, the 9 track 'early Emancipation' configuration is
actually the 'New World' album.

No info is known about the 'Party album' (other than what you've already said).

The Tora Tora Experience was due for release in 1995, but nothing is known
about it, other than it was going to include "(Lemme See Your Body) Get Loose!".

Uno, Dos & Tres & were simply tracks recorded as possible Madhouse tracks.
They were never included on any actual album configuration. Though if they
had, they would've been on the little known 2nd attempt at a third Madhouse
album called '26' (not 24, like the 1st & 3rd attempts), which eventually
evolved into Eric Leeds first 'solo' album "Times Squared".

"Brass Monkey" was the name of another Madhouse type band featuring Eric & Prince.
As far as I know, the only known track to be recorded for the project was
an instrumental called "Boom Box" in '91.

For all your QUESTIONS and HEADACHES.....

"These tracklists in most cases only represent one Work In Progress snap-shot of each project, and do not represent any kind of final configuration as it may have been released. In fact, there are often numerous work in progress configurations of any given project Prince has worked on - In most cases, these do not represent any final configuration, only a work in progress."

Because by now there are far too few posts submitted to this thread on a daily basis. I'd suggest the .org should finally update its FAQ and include information such as this (revised, of course) in it.
