I don't get the love 4 the "I Wish U Heaven" video. I really liked the song, but the video was awful. CG is WAY better, his best video in awhile. Still, though, I think his best videos are 7, Gett Off, Cream, and PARTYMAN!! That video is so damn funny.

I'm not a fan of The track or the video to CG. The song is terribly cheesey and the video looks like an English advert for a bank. You do as I say

Blasphemy! It's probably the only video that he didn't "perform" the song. The camera holding still while the story rolled along, the apple being picked and bitten, then placed back on the tree at the end... sheer genius. It defenitely embraced everything that Lovesexy stood for. Of course, this is just my opinion, but hardly any video he has done... comes close to the Lovesexy videos: Alphabet St., Glam, and I Wish U Heaven. His absolute best! Lovesexy Funkateer

why limit it to prince videos - what's the last video by ANYONE that has told a story as powerful as this video.

Love the look of this video... ...the watercolor backgrounds, the graphic visuals, the muted tones...just superbly done.
Prince and band playing among the ruins of war while bombs go off in the "blood red sky"...gotta love it.

don't forget Keisha Hughe's emphatic performance

you know what, this is a great video...
...seems like some people are so jaded that they can't even tell when something's good anymore...

From what I've seen, it looks like this might be the first good in a non-cheesy way video he's ever done.
Although it still does look a little melodramatic. [Edited 9/24/04 15:46pm] ~ I'D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR ~

I think this was better then "Call my name". U led me on thinking u was moses. Hurtin sheep blinded through a fantasy

I think both the video for "Musicology" and "Call My Name" were better than some of the crap he put out (video-wise ofcourse), but this new video is jaw-dropping IMHO!
This is the best since TGRES 'visually' and comes close to the originality of "SOTT", "Pop Life" and, indeed, "I Wish U HEaven". I like the song also. It is retro rock-pop in the vein of some of the songs on ATWIAD I'd say. I absolutely love it! 555-4444 you're on coffee talk.

Why do people think this song is cheesy?? it's a catchy little pop tune and the video is nice

Why do people think this song is cheesy?? it's a catchy little pop tune and the video is nice Because the lyrics are so obviously poor. It sounds as is a child wrote it. Just because Prince is 'tackling' a world issue with his video, people are talking as if its a significant pieces of work. It isn't. Prince is demonstrating the consequences of religious fantatacism whilst having 5:5 scrawled across his head. Good one. [Edited 9/27/04 8:44am] You do as I say

It's a horrible song, and the video doesn't help it. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

The lyrics are excellent. The best on Musicology (which, admittedly, isn't his greatest bunch of lyrics). Luv & Peace, Alex Clubbin' in Mpls/A Night w. Prince

Was that sarcastic? // TGRES video was pretty high-budget/well-made for Prince.

Yup. I agree. This whole Musicology thing just hasnt captured me at all... I think it is some of his weakest output. I prefer NPS to Musicology...
