The Writing on P's Head in CG video Once everybody see the Cinnamon Girl video, I'll know they'll be wondering what the writing on his forehead. It's a reference to Matthew 5:5, from the Beatitudes in the Bible. Prince also quotes this scripture in Dear Mr. Man.

For the longest time, Prince thought it was "Blessed are the freaks, for they shall inherit the earth"...which of course 'splains why he wrote the lyrics and acted the way he did from 1980-1995 or so...he was putting a claim in for his share.
Then Larry Graham came along, pointed out that it actually said "meek"...Prince said "D'oh!", changed his tune, and the rest is history... True story... | |
