Work That Fat

Yo, yo - where all the fat girls at?
Get on the dance floor, baby
And let me work that fat (Woo!)

Yeah, let me work that fat
Yeah!

That's how we like 'em - fat and proud
Cuz when they sit down, they sit all around
The whole house - sidewalk and everything else
I'll be damned, baby, if U don't sit on yourself
But that's what I like U 4
(Let me work that fat) {x2}
And take U 2 the crib - I swear 2 God U got stuck in the door
Say U didn't, U know U did
Opened up the ice box, ate everything in the crib
Midnight snack, my ass!
Bought 7 packs of cookies, thinking they would last
I'll be damned, baby ate the wrapper 2!
Then looked at me and said, "Nigga, I'll eat U, 2!"

(Let me work that fat) {x2}
But I guess 4 now that'll do
My baby's fat - I like her like that
I hate a skinny skench talking straight out her hat
About a credit card, and how I need 2 give her mine
I swear 2 God I'll step on that neck every time!
(Let me work that fat)

I'd rather hang out with my boys and cruise Plymouth
Lookin' 4 a fat girl toy so I can make a play
And take her 2 the way
And introduce her 2 my brother Sonny T's bass

Or maybe my guitar
I'll play so loud she'll quickly get her big ass in the car
Get in, shut up, get in!
Push the seat back - U can fit
Then sit on top of the monster, I don't care!
Just shut up, get in!
(Let me work that fat) {x2}
What? What?
Oh! {x3}
U in trouble now!
Mike, turn this shit up!
Aw yeah!

(Let me work that fat) {x2}

Told U U should...
Shut up! Sit down!
Got sho'nuff plenty nerve
(What, what?)
(Let me work that fat) {x2}

Ha ha ha...!
Damn, is this where U live?
How many food stamps did U have 2 give 2 get this palace?
Yeah, this is really nice
I betcha my thigh ain't as big as one of these mice
What kind of traps U use?
I know they don't work
Mice take the cheese and say, "D-d-damn, what a jerk!"

U must be nuts - think I'm go'n sleep here
Quiet as it's kept
There's several things 2 fear in this habitat
Let me guess, let me guess
"U like it like that" {x2}
So nobody'll rob ya

Well, as a matter of fact who is this brother?
What's he doing in your bed?
Wake up, brother, 'fore I take this new 9 and tap U on your head!
No no, she's my girl - every last mile
Now I suggest U start explaining
Before I slap that smile in the living room
U got a lotta nerve
Why don't U get your clothes
And introduce your silly ass 2 the curb?
Damn, I shoulda known
Treat a lady wrong, she'll do U the same
Can I use your phone?
I wanna call Mike
Mike, gimme another solo
I'm through with these fat girls

They know they fine
They pop U out every time
Know what, U know what?
If I see your boyfriend outside
I'm go'n hit him with the car
That's right
Oh!
Fat girls
Let me work that fat

At least they get a song! I'm waiting for him to have a song called SKINNY MINNIES. I don't find it offensive b/c I am not fat. BUT I am sure people can be saddened by this song. But to me, fat jokes are like fart jokes-- I don't find those very funny.

But Prince is trying to be funny not mean in this song, I believe.

Yeah, but if Toby Keith released a song saying "I want to see all you brown skin people dead", his honesty is still vulgar.

Damn. Whoa. With lyrics like this, I would want to ask prince want were you thinking when you wrote shitty lyrics. I am a shapely female and I can't help but feel sorry for the overweight women he talks about in this song. hmmm He must have been drinking to many bananna danquris martini when he wrote this one. It sure as hell ain't one of his classics. This song is a stinker for sure fart.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he just meant it in good humor and not to hurt people. But people come in all shapes and sizes (Prince of all people should know this) and no one wants to be singled out.

I mean, I remember when Sebastian Bach from Skid Row, wore a t-shirt saying "AIDS --Kills FAGs..DEAD!!" and said that it was only meant it good fun. shake

I think people just aren't educating themselves to the affects of their words.
I mean when you have Rappers like Dr. Dre and Ludacris freely using the word "Migit" which is a derogatory term that little people don't want to be called, it seems almost surreal in luie of certain words they wouldn't want to be called.

If we can't say nigger, chink, spic, gook, honkey, and jap--why not fatass or migit?

"
Words are like shoes. They're just something to stand on. I wish U could be in my shoes, but they're probably so high, you'd fall of and die--for U, words are DEFINATELY not shoes. They're weapons and tools and your time is boring unless you're putting something down--Prince (Hello Maxi-Single)"

It's stupid. I don't know why he thought it was nessacary to write and record it. I know it's supposed to be funny, but I roll my eyes when I hear it. I think it's immature, and could be offensive. It's just not cool.

Unfortunately, I think Prince finds humor in certain things that he wouldn't, were he on the receiving end of it.

Maybe I'm way off base, but I truly believe, deep down, Prince retains a lot of hurt & hostility about being picked on or laughed regarding his height/size, and he gets a perverse enjoyment in making "jokes" to others about their looks, weight, etc.

Well, it's obvious.
He doesn't like paradies of his music, his name, blah blah...
He's very self-concious.
It's taken years for him to even be able to do interviews where he wasn't just mumbling a few words.

Trust me, I have friends who have Little Man's Syndrome (LMS) and the things they do to compensate for it are amazing (And none of them are shorter than 5 '7)

Strange, I'm 5'6" and have never felt I was short -- just average. If someone my height or taller had LMS, I'd think it was originating from somewhere else -- not their height.

I like the track, it seems pretty tongue in cheek. It sounds like he was listening to a lot of Digital Underground when he recorded it.

I like this song and I think the lyrics are hilarious.

"Midnight snack,my ass!"

To those folks who might be offended,it's really just meant to be a joke.Kinda like "Gett Off",which was probably inspired by "Work That Fat".

They lyrics suck. The content matter is offensive-funny or not. I wonder what the "new improved" Prince thinks of the song produced by the "former gangsta wanna-be" Prince? I'll be glad when dude concludes this war with himself and we see the REAL face(s) of Prince. Everything about him during the time period tha song was released seemed false. I'm not too sure about now either. Will the real Prince please stand up?
