Could start an online petition to have WB and NPG re-release/remaster Prince's albums? And if so, why don't we? "New Power slide...." |

For what? Fuck Warner Bros. Prince isn't crazy enough to get involved with them again. I mean, why would he want to seeing how they wouldn't even let him buy his masters from them. I mean, it wasn't like Prince was asking them to just hand them over(which they should seeing how it's HIS work), but he was willing to pay for his own stuff. Granted, I understand why WB wouldn't wanna do that because Prince's catalogue is worth fortunes. But still, I say fuck them and any new partnership that they try to make with Prince. We have the albums already. No need to remaster anything. | |

No, I am saying that whoever the power that be are should re-release the older Prince albums (possibly anything prior to 1994) and improve the sound quality and possibly include unreleased songs. With the recent wave of purplemania it seems like a great time to do it. Since early this year I've been saying the timing is PERFECT for at least his first decade of material to be remastered. Timing is half the battle, this needs to get off the ground. With everything that's already happened his audience (old and new) and career is primed for this. This post not for the wimp contingent. Are you sure about that? From what I understand (and I did live through the LOOOOONG Prince-vs.WB days that apparently are STILL not over, yawn) Prince wanted Warner's to GIVE him his masters. Also from what I understand, they would have negotiated a deal with him if he was interested in buying them back, but he didn't think he should have to do that. If he wanted to buy them back, he should have done it in 2001...they had to have been at an all-time low price back then - remember, when it seemed like the world would never know Prince again? Now they might actually sell a bit. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.
