It's a really good album, but I always get the feeling whenever I listen to it that it needed two or three more songs to be great. This one has a great dark, sensual, somber sound to it. Just needed a bit "more" added to it.

I've owned this album for years but never listened to it until yesterday (!!!!!) as I was always grooving to his other works. I love it! Very jazzy, very cool. I'm still discovering Prince...ah...the sparks fly...

His best post-eighties album by some margin, in my opinion.

The album excitedment.

It was hard to get over the longass, overproduced, overliy bright title track--not a bad song mind you, just too much of everything.

Then the album was hit or miss after that. It just felt kind of...um..produced awkwardly. And the ocean waves and whispering..aweful.

It still give the album a B+ though. The bad stuff doesn't outweight the good. It think if Prince where to rerelease it with a few small changes it would be perfect. But I wouldn't wish for that as he would just end up releaseing it with snippets of Doug E Fresh in all the songs.

i think "orgasm" and "solo" are kinda weak and annoying on their own, but within the context of listening to the album as a whole, both tracks really work perfectly for me...or at least, i find that i don't really notice them. i think there's a wonderfully dark, sexual, almost ethereal mood that is evoked whenever i hear that album all the way through. whatever he was going for, he certainly achieved - at least to my ears.

I LOVE the original version of Come. I was spoiled her it live right at his feet at an aftershow at Glam Slam West on the Act 1 tour and the album version just sounded weak to me.

A good album, that could have been a great album. the slave arguement robbed it of greatness.

TMBGITW, Interactive etc.

I still think Dark is the weak point. One of P's most boring ballads.

I think this is one of the albums that the fans have started to appreciate more and more in retrospect. It has aged particularily well - there aren't too many embarrassing musical elements that would sound that dated on the record.

It's interesting though, at its time of release it was considered way inferior to his previous 90s work with the New Power Generation. I've certainly had to re-evaluate my opinion on the record myself during the more recent times. It's very good in fact.

I love it !
It's a very cool CD.
The title track itself is sublime and I always really dug Letitgo !
Also the acoustic version of 'Space' on the maxi single is awesome.
I just can't believe all the things people say !

love the album, very underrated

letitgo reminds me of a summer day going shopping or something
space reminds me a fun and exciting relationship
papa is hilarious and makes me laugh
dark has a nice flow and eases my mind
come is the eptitome of the album
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I totally agree.

While it has the sensuality and sexuality you'd expect from Prince, it's like nothing else he's ever done.

Come has a certain dark poetic somberness to it that's like nothing else.

It almost comes off like a personal journey into the dark recesses of his mind....

I mean, where else are you gonna find something as erotic, obsessive and twisted as Pheromone? Or something as eerily revealing as Papa?

I must be the only one who really did not like this CD.
To me, this album just went all over the place. Except for "Space", which is where I think PM Dawn got the idea for, "Set adrift on memory bliss", this is my least favorite Prince CD.

Sorry Guys.

I like the original version better, too. The album version should have been relocated to a Come Experience single. But I think the sax solo around the eigth minute is veeery sexxxyyyy. drool
