I start with Come and end with Solo. biggrin

I LOVE the original version of Come. I was spoiled her it live right at his feet at an aftershow at Glam Slam West on the Act 1 tour and the album version just sounded weak to me.

What did the 5 fingers, say to the face?

I just bought this album yesterday, and had previously only heard Letitgo and Come, both of which I liked a lot. I'd held off on this one for so long, because I'd heard so many mixed takes on it, and though I've been a fan for a long time until very recently I only had select albums from the latter half of his career. That said, I really like this one, and Space has quickly become one of my favorite Prince songs, and I dig Dark a bunch, too.

priceless

when i was very young i heard prince diamonds and pearls-thunder stuck and so did get off
but some time b4 prince came 2 tour here i went to the local library and saw 'come' on display, and i borrowed it coz i was very curious about him a couple years back.
now i'd prefer to say that was the first time and the best time i had with prince, no vibe is more refreshing than 'come'

I've loved the Come album from the moment it was released! I feel that it's one of Prince's best projects -- and far superior to The Gold Experience.

I actually loved it at the time of release, but now think it's dated itself a little. The songs I loved then, Come & Letitgo, now sound kind of plastic, and ones I didn't pay attention to, "Race" and "Dark," I really like now. As a whole, pretty good, but kind of cold.

Love it! The only downside for me being those stupid waves and whispering. neutral

Overall one of my fave P. albums though. biggrin

There's only one thing I would change about this album and that's have Loose! be about 7 or 8 minutes long. That was my shit, but it's too short.

Definitely not the first Prince album I reach for...but it is pretty good. I guess it came as a bit of a shock since it was his first album not to have any hits. But in hindsight it is certainly one of his most unique releases. At first I didn't like it but as the years pass it keeps getting better and better. I'm not crazy about "Solo" and "Orgasm". I usually have to turn the volume down when those two come on.

A good album, that could have been a great album. the slave arguement robbed it of greatness.

TMBGITW, Interactive etc.

I still think Dark is the weak point. One of P's most boring ballads.

OH,NO no no no! Dark is the song that I listen to when I was going through a bad breakup. Maybe u should listen to this gem again smile
