maybe if i were expecting some kind of leonard cohen-esque lyrical masterpiece i'd be disappointed, but fortunately i was only expecting a silly, funky, melodic pop song by prince. | |

there's nothing wrong with the message (as sappy as it is)...it's just that the song itself sucks condor eggs...
as far as memory serving...what about C.R.A.P.?...or The Rainbow Fiasco?...I have to swallow back the bile everytime I think of those wastes of metal 'n' plastic...  | |

Gosh for a really short song this one gets the most bashing. It's a segue folks! It's the trasitional part of the album. Part of the concept. USOD, nice tune for a B-Side. I can't comment on "United States of Division" because I've never heard it but as far as "Wedding Feast" goes, I don't totally dislike it. I just consider it as one of those "weird, far out" songs like some of the tracks on "Parade". I do agree that if a lot of people thought Wendy and Lisa were behind this song, they would be falling all over themselves. It sounds like some of their "weird, far out" influence. The only thing that i dont like about Untied States Of Division is the chorus.....there were more creative ideas than "do do do doo doo doo...everybody stop fighting". Its nice for a basic artist, but THIS SI PRINCE..this is the man who made Partyup, Sexuality, Sign O The Times.... even Dear Mr. Man....political paisley classics we look up to....

the united states of division, on the npg website, is that how it really sounds? with some nice prince style violin type sound and some cheesy funk tv show type sound? i hope thats not it. i cant afford the $25 fee or the download fee or whatever fee. but if it sounds like that prince or no prince i can't buy music i'm not feelin. i hope so much it does'nt sound like that. too bad i can't pay the fee and pass the gates of the all wonderful oz:sad2: | |
