Engagement rings? Did I miss that item or are you thinking of something else? I saw some engagement cards that actually pre-date the engagement. Prince writing is rare, someone's gonna want it, but it's hardly an engagement letter or beautiful correspondence that you might want to read later.

I could be wrong about the rings ( I hope I am ) I know his writing is rare but those notes to her are personal and it is crass to sell them.

My point is " Who keeps this nasty stuff? " next someone will be selling a lock of his hair ( gross and weird) and I have never heard of anyone's leg warmers, underware or waist chains hanging up in the Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame.

I do not think that Susannah is going to get $7,5000 for his used leg warmers and I do not really care if some old stinking leg warmers brings someone joy because I know they need to seek mental health treatment.

EDITED TO ADD: there are currently SIX active threads about Vanity in the AA&P Forum and an additional two have gone off topic....that is EIGHT threads about her. Guess it is clear which Prince protégé/ex can be discussed at length w/o fear of censorship and/or members who create discord in an attempt to quash discussion as it may relate to other associated artists/protégés, etc.

But I think the race stuff... a lot of people especially african-American -non hardcore fans don't know that JJ is part Black. Eevn JJ talked about that being an issue during the promotion of her 87 album. I just really don't think race has anything to do with it. There are a lot of serious areas that should be and need to be address as far as race and various ethnicities (including mixed race) not to mention gender etc I just harken back to Janet Hubert's reply to Jada Pinkett-Smith...
