Ok I'm 99.9% done with this whole thing. . I don't know if JJ bought the PR Deluxe and had access to the actually booklett with notes, but here is another example of people taking advantage of her sensitive space and doing/saying things to get her riled up and taking advantage of her for their own selfish socialpathic purposes. I wonder how many people here saying 'Go Jill' even looked into this to see if there is any grounds? My guess is no. . . Now look at how it this whole thing was spun into a racial crap fest? . Nothing in the booklet disparaged Jill Jones at all. The credits parts was all over the place, just like Prince had it originally in 1984. I mean JJ wasn't the only one not included on certain songs, so was David Coleman not included on We Can Fuck. And who is the woman on the Time's Ice Cream Castles that I've never seen or heard of?
. Ok here we go . page 5
"Wait Till The Fans Hear This" (for all those who don't have it, they only talked about the soundtrack songs and some ATWIAD songs) . Moving tape machine from the driveway back into his home studio, it falls. My instinct to protect equipment kicks in (literally) and I brace the fall with my foot, breaking a toe. In Prince's kitchen the next morning Jill Jones asks, "What happened to your foot?" "I dropped Prince's wallet on it." I reply. How did this turn into a racial protest? . If you read the next page(6) Susan Rogers talks about liking to bake. And it is here talking about cooking for Prince 'scrambled eggs and hot chocolate around dawn' I like to bake and he had a sweet tooth, so he would, on rare occasions, drop a large hint that hot chocolate made the old fashioned way, with scalded milk, cocoa and sugar, would hit the spot. . hmmm that is about Susan Rogers(European-American & (lesbian)) in Prince's house/kitchen serving him. . on to the next section . . FEARLESSLY BREATHE IN THE... PURPLE RAIN The Revolution Track -By- Track (for all those who don't have it, they only talked about the soundtrack songs)
. proceed to page 4 THE BEAUTIFUL ONES Brownmark: The ballads were hard for me because when we were recording them I would almost tfall asleep or be in the kitchen somewhere. I would hear what they were doing and play my bass one-handed and make sure I hit the notes.
If anyone remembers Brownmark in the few interviews he's done in the past, he talked about rehearsals that went for hours or into the night or early morning and how he would walk his bass to the kitchen and fix himself a sandwich.
Brownmark in the kitchen, not Jill Jones. . proceed to page 8 BABY I'M A StAR
Ok here we have another example of memories and feelings of a song. Where Lisa Coleman talks about her and JJ singing on Baby I'm A Star, most of us not even knowing until this moment that JJ and Lisa came in to do some extra vocals. She didn't talk about JJ being in the kitchen, she didn't talk about JJ in any disparaging way. This is not the words of someone who has it out for JJ or wants to erase her from musical memory.
. page 4 of the thanks/credits of the soundtrack as is in the 1984 version

No Lisa explained it was She and Jill doing extra vocal work on the song. Not the backward masking | |
