If it doesn't work out with Andy, his next pursuit will be Nneka [img:$uid]http://videos.brokencurve.com/1e0cf0f045c048d1a3548477f22fd8a0.jpg[/img:$uid]
She's a lil' too "black" for Prince, though. [Edited 7/15/11 16:03pm]

Prince looks SO off in this pic. He looks so old and outta place next to the beauty and youthfulness of Andy. Loos like Prince has lost his famous sexiness in his pics. "Don't make me chase u, even doves have pride.."

i'm seeing the same things you all are seeing, and more. but here's the thing:
prince doesnt have anything else. no wife, no family, no home, hardly any true friends...
all he's got are his hits, his shows, all the money he wastes, and a really effing lonely hotel room.
even his so-called girlfriend appears to have been kicked to the curb while he struts out the europe leg of princedom.
when all you've got left is your music and one solitary room, what are you going to do to freshen things up and relieve the boredom?
what are you going to do to make yourself feel good?
you're gonna recruit the youngest, sweetest, most naive, and weakest talent you can find...
you're gonna help her, befriende her, dress the same, be her mentor and feel just splendid because of how refreshing her energy is.
and when all your fans shove some reality in your face, you're gonna answer back to that with 'go to hell' because how dare we be so cold?
we're supposed to show some understanding.
i respect his past, i'm currently tolerating the present, but the view i'm getting for the future of these two, especially andy, is a crashing and tumbling back down to reality, and it's gonna hurt her really badly.
prince is a master illusionist. he forms bonds with people who believe his tricks. it's a nice and safe cosy protected bubble they are living in, the tour bubble, the prince bubble.
but no man is an island, and no 23 year old who allows a 53 year old to blatantly use her to fill his own void is wise enough to see what lies ahead.
on a professional level, her voice is weak, her guitar playing skills are amateur at best. big hair cant hide that. adorability wont hide that from people who are looking for SUBSTANCE.
but this isnt about andy allo, this is about prince doing what prince needs to do to fill himself up with what he cant find in himself.
in my opinion, this is it for andy allo. this is as good as it will ever get for her. there are thousands of girls out there who look better, sing better, play better. she is far from unique.
she lacks pizazz, showmanship, there's no sparkle to anything i've seen or heard so far.
she's prince's latest muse, and i hope she realises that sooner rather than later. if i was her mother i'd be telling her to be extremely careful. do your job. take the money, and the get the F out of there.
in the meantime, we're in for a few more rounds of romper room. i'll be sitting here with a smile on my face, and i'll send them both my love.
i hope he has his 'fun'.

Well said but this "this is as good as it will ever get for her." is a little harsh.
Right now shes sucks but who knows what lies in her future. Who are we to say what level of sucess andy might reach...
Other than that i agree with everything.
However she is doing better than me right now and her life is really awesome.. i guess you can say shes "winning" and im losing like a muthafucka

Kanye wrote a few very honest lines about this subject in Welcome To Heartbreak. I agree - fame has its costs. One of them tends to be loneliness; another - boredom. Hey, all of that is a life decision. Most people don't have his millions and his career; he doesn't have a family. That's how it goes. No tears here. Boo hoo hoo Richie Rich, poor little rich kid.
As to Andy - check out her songs. She's a pretty decent songwriter. I took her VERY lightly because of the single she had out but when you check out some of her other songs, they are pretty good. Also, she's very quick. There's a clip on youtube where she was doing an open mic and she took subjects and names and made up a song on the spot. That takes talent. She's no Jenny Hudson in the singing dept. but she doesn't have to be with the type of songs she does. Make no mistake, I agree with you that she is his "muse" rather than a band member. I'm just saying that she's not as talentless as people around here seem to think.

as an audience member at a prince concert, i dont want 'pretty good' or 'not as talentless as people think' or 'she's very quick'...
i want "WHO THE FUCK IS THAT SHE'S ON FIRE SHE'S AWESOME WOW SHE TOTALLY KILLED IT!"
the 'pretty good' and the 'very quick' and the 'she's "talented"' dime-a-dozens all belong in the local pub scene with the rest of mediocrity
who get by on word of mouth and who's who in the local goldfish bowl strumming their guitars in leather jackets taking pride in their tiny awards and hyping themselves up on fucking twitter.
mediocrity come, mediocrity go. she better grow some wings and start flying soon or she'll be tumbling down the mountain.
even if prince wrote her a hit and she charted, it wont last long because she's quite simply, not genuine about what she's doing. she's got no schtick.
artists who care about music actually put in some effort. but she's up there doing what? does she not know what fire is?
she better learn it quick and use him up like he's using her and get the last laugh real quick too, or it's all over in less than 12 months.
if prince keeps her in the band, she can kiss her own career goodbye. he's already hijacked most of it anyway, including what little identity she already had.
now she's doing prince covers and posting them on fucking facebook. "not like i love mah geetar.." wow. the heat is too much for me to bear. "It's time for you to go to the wire."

As an artist, she's not genuine about what she's doing? How could you POSSIBLY know that? You seem to be judging her on what she's doing with Prince and not what she has done on her own. I wouldn't go so far as to say she doesn't believe in her own songs. She was playing in bars and doing open mic shows. Songwriters like that usually are VERY sincere in what they are singing about because they are usually either doing it for free or for very little. She's not a great guitarist. I agree with you there. She's a mellow chick. She's not "tearing it up" and as a fan I could understand how that would annoy you and many others. No argument there. To go off and assume that she doesn't mean what she writes is a whole other level of insulting, though. I'm sure he will morph her into an "associated artist" sooner or later but at least she was doing music before her stint with Prince. You can't discount the sincerity of someone else's work based on what they do with another artist. I knew who Andy Allo was before she was with Prince but I knew her from G4tv as a correspondent and I had seen her music video and watched her perform a few of her songs on youtube. She may not have had a skyrocketing career as a singer/songwriter but you can't say she's insincere about her work. And yeah, I also agree, if Prince keeps her in the band - she can kiss her own career goodbye. I also agree that she should ride with him for a year or so and then bounce. Her "schtick" as you put it, is mellow-cute-post-hippie-chick" and that works for her. Hopefully, she will continue to do what she does unencumbered but she can't hang around Prince for long if thats gonna happen. He'll try to turn her into some version of himself if she sticks around too long.[/b]

before, and after. some artists are awake. some artists are asleep. genuine is not a matter of intent, it's about how you follow through.
if she were to feel insulted by my paying her the compliment of being frank, then she needs to leave the game right now.
she'll hear a lot worse than the honesty i've offered up. wait til she starts hearing blatant lies, like the ones she's been hearing lately.
now that does serious damage. balloon inflates, balloon inflates, balloon inflates, then pop!
anyway, thanks for the chat. "It's time for you to go to the wire."

I think prince is crowding her shine.
she can't shine because prince is the bigger star .
Its just not Fair for poor Andy and I actually like andy allo as a person... is seems sweet.. Way more open then smugtastic bria.
Doesnt anyone see how unfair this is. He trying to showcase andy as a new artist but everyone is not going be paying attention to poor Andy. Everyone is paying attention to prince. She literally has to out shine Prince. And of course Prince is not gonna let that happen.

Dr. Drew, were are u? I like to see him give an ole profile of P, he would probably agree with some or many of the things you said above. 30 years older....hhhhmmmm. One sure does see a trend with P, use them for awhile and then out the door and on to the next one.

Who said anything about genius? Sometimes its about expression. Some artists are simply compelled to express themselves. I just think calling someone singing about their life experiences insincere without any basis for it is a bit off base. Hey, homegirl ain't burning up the stage when she's with Prince but dude is paying her to be there, so I say if you have a problem, take it up with him. I think we know how that would go. Dude has shown on many occasions that he doesn't give a damn about what his fans think because so many have shown undying support that he knows he will get your money regardless of how much you complain.

Isn't it funny how that orger drums up all that nonsense believing he knows what's in store for Andy's future? Hilarious. He doesn't know any more about her personally than any of us. He's judging from the outside based on his own trumped-up assumptions. At least you did your research and can see she's been out there doing her own thing musically/career-wise. She does have some nice songs that I listened to last year, when I posted about her in the Non-prince forum back in August 2010.
She was also featured on the Africa channel's Red Kiva program and has collaborated with other artists. I think people should just chill and instead of pre-judging or trying to play psychic about her music collaboration with Prince, and how it will turn out, because at the end of the day, it will be Andy who will walk away with that experience and opportunity added to her music career.

I like her solo stuff. But the trend of his former bandmates- especially women - is sort of a matter of history. They have to work AGAINST the damage Prince does. The only exceptions imo are Sheila, and W&L- who came up WITH him...not AFTER him.

I think they look cute up on stage together and they seem to be having a lot of fun. I like her big-ass hair.

I like her songs "Conclusions" and "Sometimes". What I like about her music when I first heard of her back in August 2010, is that for me, being an old school music fan, I can listen to some, not all, of her music without feeling that it's too young for me. It's cool when an artist's music can reach various age groups, and be appreciated, considering that much of the music industry today have artists whose music seems to only target mainly younger audiences.
