Who said anything about genius? Sometimes its about expression. Some artists are simply compelled to express themselves. I just think calling someone singing about their life experiences insincere without any basis for it is a bit off base.

in the picture with p and andy dressed alike, he's missing his sparkle (to me)...she's quite lovely and quite young and if they are together i hope they make each other happy. fifteen minutes goes by really slow if you are mired in tedium. i too wish he would find someone with more life experience (read older) but that is not his thing and i don't get to make decisions for him. he hasn't really dated anyone close to his age since the late 80's and might have to up his game with someone who knows who they are because no matter how well you have it together at 22 there's still a lot of learning that life will serve up to you. earlier this year i saw pictures of him looking at misty pretty much the same way, so who is to say.

Shelby just got married in January, but has been with the band for a few years, yet no one questioned their relationship. If anything, there were threads about how her look DOESN'T fit the NPG.

I agree that people tend to try and link anyone who fits what they consider "Prince's type" to him romantically based on her look.
