The Best Prince associated artist album?

If you had to pick one album from all the people Prince has worked with ie..former band members, associated bands or artists who have been on his record labels. What would album would you choose? We've got the likes of The Time, Sheila E, Wendy And Lisa, George Clinton, Chaka Khan, Larry Graham(cmon GCS2000 lets hear it!), Jill Jones, Taja Sevelle...theres loads but you gotta pick one only.

I go for Wendy And Lisa Eroica simply because the songwriting is superb and equals anything Prince is capable of and the playing is stunning. I still play it regularly. More than a lot of Prince stuff.

I love Jill Jones' 1987 album - the sound of the whole thing and the songs chosen for it were just perfect to me.

Wendy and Lisa's Eroica.
Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

Wendy and Lisa's Eroica.

Eroica is one of my all-time favourites but if I had to pick one associates album with heavy Prince involvement, it's "Jill Jones".
The Family, Sheila E. (1987), Mavis Staples ... all good & typical Prince sound albums, but Jill Jones simply is the best.

Might have to go with Eric Leeds "Times Squared" - it's aged much better than either Madhouse joint.

My vote also goes to this album. I also rank at the top Sheila E' first two, The Time's and the Family's.

Very hard to pick ONE. The contenders are:

1. Sheila E - THe Glamorous Life
2. The Family
3. The Time - What time Is It
4. Jill Jones

If I could only have one on a desert island I'd go with Sheila's. although The Family is probably the best musically.

I really like Ingrid Chavez's album. It was good to hear something different than the usual funk jams.

Those are all good albums but how come no one has given props to Mavis Staples?

I like The Voice OK but the first one (can't recall the title at the moment) with Jaguar on it was the shit. I wish I could find that one on CD but I don't think it exists.

yeah, i have that one on tape somewhere...it's okay. i listened to it a few times. i really love her voice, but i thought the production on the album was kinda plastic. never heard 'the voice' - i always wanted to hear her take on 'positivity'.
