If you had to pick one album from all the people Prince has worked with ie..former band members, associated bands or artists who have been on his record labels. What would album would you choose? We've got the likes of The Time, Sheila E, Wendy And Lisa, George Clinton, Chaka Khan, Larry Graham(cmon GCS2000 lets hear it!), Jill Jones, Taja Sevelle...theres loads but you gotta pick one only.

I go for Wendy And Lisa Eroica simply because the songwriting is superb and equals anything Prince is capable of and the playing is stunning. I still play it regularly. More than a lot of Prince stuff.

oh I'm sorry, I thought you meant only albums by Prince associated artists that he had something to do with...my bad lol

In that case, I vote for Jesse Johnson's "Shockadelica"! nod

There was nothing like this album when it came out. You might not have dug it but, it has it's place in the grand progression. Not to mention Sinaed made P a boat load of $$$.

My favorite associated artist albums are:

The Time - What Time Is It? (you know an album this popular is really good when your favorite tracks weren't released as singles)
The Family - The Family (I thought this album was mindblowing when I first bought it on vinyl in '85, and I still love it)

Given all that I had heard about it, I expected to be blown away by the Jill Jones project, but the more I found and downloaded, the less impressed I was. Outside of "G-Spot", "Violet Blue", and "For Love", I just don't find the album that interesting.

The Time's first album, which is basically P with Morris on lead vox and some drums. Hands down.

Anything P produced, wrote for, played on between 81 and 85 is the shit. P was in a zone during those years.

I only see one shout to Vanity 6 eek

To me probably the only album I can listen to except for the last song. Nasty Girl...Make Up..If a girl answers...He's so Dull...Drive me wild...How can you go wrong?

The others have too many skippers for me. A close second would be In Romance 1600. But even then my favorite song goes on like 4 minutes too long.

I don't include any of the W&L stuff as Prince wasn't really involved in them, nor did he make albums for them.

Picking just one is like trying to pick your favourite Prince album -one aint enough!

Anyway my vote goes for "The Family" album (followed closely by "What Time Is It" and "Romance 1600")

Peace y'all.
