Glad you posted PP management response.
I noticed earlier PP management responded. It should never have happened in the first place. They should have employed competent staff. Allowing these things to happen makes me question what they are all doing behind closed doors.

What has happened is so disrespectful and those doing such things should be ashamed. I doubt they will be.

It should never have happened and it won't happen again. My concern is losers like this ruin it for everyone else and they do turn it into a museum. If people would just learn how to respect other people stuff...😬

The estate has a duty to move the back inventory, of course.

Folks attending may want it, or may want to support those efforts, that's great.

The other stuff will come too.

Perhaps additional time will bring quality merchandise options that please you and others.

It could happen, but not without bringing in money now too.

(P.S. It's not about the stuff.)

To you, it may not be "about the stuff," but some of us would like something to take home that is a memory of our visit, not a tour from 5 years ago. If they're not allowing photographs of the interior, something like a photo guide would very easily solve that, despite your self righteous proselytising.

It's simple--post a security guard next to Prince's possessions and if the people don't act appropriately with Prince's things, then escort them out with no photos.

They need more security in PP, no doubt about it. The pouches that they give out to lock up your phone aren't foolproof because the lock mechanism opened on my friend and another lady in my group. I saw a couple of guards walking around and there was one posted by the hydraulic piano but there should be one in every room. I only saw one person being ridiculous and she touched the piano from the Jam of the Year tour. She stopped once we gave her the look of death. I also didn't like how the guide left our group in the NPG room because she had another tour. No one did anything disrespectful but still....

I took the VIP tour at 9:30AM on Friday and I really did enjoy it despite the tour guide I had. I wonder if they hired some local soccer moms with nothing to do because I found it odd that she couldn't answer simple questions without consulting her cue cards and she said she was an archivist. I had to walk away from his urn because it was too much for me but I didn't start crying until the PR room. That was my first Prince concert and it just hammered home the fact that he's really gone. The Galaxy Room made me smile because he had a cute photo of Andy in the corner and he had a table full of kid photos in his office too. I recognized the daughter from the Blackish tv show but no one else. There was a pet carrier in there too so did he have another cat recently?

I had been to PP 3 times in the past and I honestly wanted to go again while the opportunity was there just in case the museum doesn't work out. I feel like I encountered mostly fans and not random looky-loos acting like it was Disneyland. I met a sweet elderly couple in their 80s who brought their grandchildren as well as a guy who came to the festivities by himself because none of his friends are fans.

They wouldn't even let me touch his guitar, so how did these two get away with being on top of his precious piano. All wrong.

Also, the guides told me that if you want 2 photos behind the piano or near the guitar, that you have to purchase 2 USBs.

We took the General Admission tour because I couldn't afford the VIP with the expense of getting there and the concert. I was beyond pleased with our experience. The tour guides need ALOT of training. I had to feed them the information and correct misinformation about basic stuff several times. The ones we had clearly weren't big Prince fans, if at all, so that was an odd vibe. I was the only one in the group who immediately started the tears as soon as I got past the entrance and was standing to enter the atrium. The urn was really well done, beautiful actually and I was skeptical. The guides presentation of though was very sterile - "Now its time to pay your respects" then they put their heads down had a moment of silence and then popped up their heads, put on the smile and led us to the other rooms. eek I didn't let them herd me off, stuck around, grabbed a few tissues and took my time. From that point, we just followed the groups. There was a feeling of being rushed but I just didn't move with the group and no one complained, so I went with taking my time to take it all in. Studio A was very special. Just to absorb all that has happened in that room over the years was overwhelming. It's truly a magical music factory in those walls. Overall, the themed rooms were very well done, the artifacts were wonderfully chosen and it was just a priviledge to be present in his space. There were wonderful videos of Prince performing throughout but the loop in the rehersal space with footage of his Piano and Microphone performance at Paisley is phenomonal-particularly since the set is still there-as it was the night he performed. But the highlight for me was at the end. There is the full video of Prince's SuperBowl performance on large screens. I have always loved this performance and was so completely in the moment. I wasn't aware of anyone else in the room, just standing there wiping my tears but with a smile. I felt a very gentle pat on my arm and heard "Thank you so much for coming." I looked beside me and there was Tyka. She was there with other family and they had joined the group and were watching our reactions to the footage. It was a really beautiful moment. She went around and shook hands, gave hugs and thanked us personally. She was completely gracious and sincere and it was obvious that she loved how much we loved her brother. There are issues to be worked out at Paisley but it was a once in a lifetime experience and I hope they are able to make this work. I just hope that the management will implement more training and more exhibits that provide a deeper and wider knowledge of Prince and who he was for future generations and those who aren't as familiar with him.

No, it was definitely Andy. At first glance I thought it was Judith too because of the hair.

For those that have taken the tour...... what do you think Paisley Park smelled like? It smelled good to me..kind of a cozy/home-y smell. But I can't figure out WHAT exactly the smell was!?!?!?! Candles where everywhere. And I forgot to ask the guide what scents they were, or what he normally liked! I went to the Yankee Candle store the next day...just to see if I could come up with any of the canldes there that smelled similar......and I just couldn't get it!

-- Thanks this was so heartfelt. As for Tyka a few people have met her and no as had anything bad to say about her. Almost everything bad we have heard comes from the stupid tabloids. I wish people would understand that 90% of what they write is bull.

I sent the following suggestions to Paisley Park for improvements:

  1. Let fans walk through the actual soundboard rooms for Studio A and B rather than just the performance areas.

  1. Show fans the actual Studio C soundboard room next to the Purple Rain room and perhaps a photo of what it used to look like. I understand that he wanted a Purple Rain room and that the decision was made to use Studio C but Studio C is an important part of Paisley Park and must be part of the tour. The Plectrum Electrum video would be a good video to show Studio C n action. Prince loved Studio C because of the unique echo effect of the sound. Lots of songs recorded in that studio. Much of his last jazz album was recorded there. Ask Kirk.

  1. More music and longer videos in every room. A video monitor should be in every room with unseen footage.

  1. No matter what anyone tells you, Prince wanted “The Egg” building to be the place where fans paid their respects to him. He did not want his urn to be in Paisley Park. I know the family designed the urn and wanted the urn to be in Paisley, so that is their prerogative. With that said, most fans who feel closest to Prince don’t think he would have wanted that particular urn and would not have wanted it in Paisley Park, which is about life, not death. He didn’t finish “The Egg” for a reason. I understand that you may have no say in this.

  1. Research where the 7th pyramid is at Paisley Park. There are six that are visible. As you know, there is a 7th one. Also, there are many more hidden rooms and other treasures to be found.

  1. Eventually let fans see the vault. Eventually let them see the wardrobe room. Much later, let them see where he lived.

  1. Keep a staff member in his office at all times. That is one of the highlights of the tour and there can be no chance that a fan takes or disturbs anything that is there.

  1. You can use the upstairs recreation room above the little kitchen as a place for VIP ticket holders to view never seen before full concert videos from various eras. The last time I saw it he had his arcade games and pool table in that room and a big screen. Perfect setting for VIP’s.

  1. January 21, 2016 was a historic night for Paisley Park. You show a brief clip from that night in the main soundstage room. You must show the entirety of both shows, especially the first show, eventually in that mainstage room so that everyone can experience that most intimate and historic show in the history of Paisley Park. Prince fans from all over the world would come to view those shows, but they must be in their entirety. I’m not telling you to rip people off but you could charge whatever you wanted for that and we would come.

  1. Re-Paint the symbol on the door to the main soundstage. He painted over it in the spring because he planned to do more piano & mic shows at Paisley in the summer and he wanted to have the fractal mandalas projected on the door behind him without the symbol. That symbol was such an iconic part of that room that it should be painted back on the door.

  1. The photo op should be like an amusement park where someone snaps your photos and then you can buy them at the end of the tour. The thumb drive thing takes too long.

  1. Lastly, and most importantly, if you are going to serve pancakes at Paisley Park then they can’t be Aunt Jemima pancakes. They must be the lavender pancakes with the special syrup that Prince served to his guests. Authenticity is important to Prince fans.

What is your source for item #4?

-- Yes, where did you get four from because that is not what people said who worked at Paisley.

That is just my personal feeling. I have no source. But it seems obvious given the the fact that he never finished it. Seems like the logical place. I could be wrong on that.

Wasn't his chef the last person who saw him?
No! Whoever dropped Prince off at home around 8:15 PM. They never told us who the last person to see him alive was. I'm guessing in was KJ since he lives down the road.

I still wanna know about the whole Will Smith story. It's like it's never been brought up again. He claims to have talked to Prince that evening. soooooooo?????.......................was it early evening? Later? How did he sound? so many questions that no one seems to be asking!?

I also find it interesting that Prince began residing at PP full time around the surgery time. I could be wrong about the time frame. But it is around 2010. I always wondered why he decided that. Perhaps he felt that have a seperate home was not needed. Thoughts?

That did seem odd and it is a critical piece in the timeline.

I don't think we know for sure if he was living at PP full time. Did Prince ever talk about why he came back to Minnesota after moving to LA for a while?

Even though re-opening Paisley Park is fresh, new and working progress... i want to point out a few critiques i have noticed:

- tour guides: lack expertise/knowledge

- food service: closes at 10:30pm, so for those on last tour of night...you may be out of luck. This happened to me and was very disappointed on friday night because we were told towards the end of tour and should have been informed by emails prior. However, i brought it up on saturday before my tour started and thankfully something was worked out where some of us were able to try the curry dish (which is delicious but wish i could try all the vegan options)

- merchandise: i don't know how it is earlier in the day but by the end of night it looks messy and lacking on some merchandise that i've seen posted online that i really wanted to get.

- shuttle bus: great for getting there but if you are the last tour of night, they threaten to leave you behind. It seems like tours don't start on time and by the time you are on long line for buying souviners..the staff announces the bus will be leaving and this creates stress and aggravation. I found out that there is, how you say a "miscommunication" between shuttle service & paisley park. The bus driver on saturday started off jolly and in good spirits but by 11ish pm she looked irritated and tired. Supposedly she claims that she is to provide shuttle service until 7pm and she had no breaks throughout the day. If that is the case, then that could be a issue between 2 parties and should have it taken care of.

  1. Re-Paint the symbol on the door to the main soundstage. He painted over it in the spring because he planned to do more piano & mic shows at Paisley in the summer and he wanted to have the fractal mandalas projected on the door behind him without the symbol. That symbol was such an iconic part of that room that it should be painted back on the door.

i was wondering if that symbol was painted over because opening the door "breaks" the symbol? and whole symbols are preferred smile
