The reason I made the comparison is because both are people who have been through fame and then a period of time where all of a sudden people had to almost defend being a fan of either. As a fan of both, I've felt this.

The point I was trying to express is that when MJ was in the thick of public hatred, he treated his supporters graciously. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw Prince graciously thanking his fans and supporters for staying with him or actually stating that he loves them. That's all I'm trying to get across. I wish I could think of another singer or performer as a better comparison on that idea, because I don't like to compare the two in a music sense. They are completely different ends of the music spectrum to me.

Wanna know what happens when I don't respond to an email to Support at my job within the hour? I either get a phone call from the requester (if I'm lucky), or the request gets escalated to the next level, i.e. the email gets forwarded to their boss and my boss. FYI: there are a gazillion of tools that help business run their operation. Tools where an automated system reads a mailbox, sends an auto-reply to the sender to acknowledge that the message was received and entered into the system ("and here is an ID you need to mention in further correspondence"), which have a back-end where users can then manage those messages.
