Now it's time for him to create what he wants again I think. Time will tell. Either way I'm just happy that he's still chucking material out. Not many other artists of his standing are doing that. In fact can't think of any.

Finally got around to watching these 2 new clips. Like others I think Little Red Corvette is my favourite. Loving the slightly new arrangment and it's just one of those songs that evreyone knows and loves - despite us hearing it live many times before. The last half with the hand claps and "Slow Down" participation bought a warm fuzzy glow to my heart. Lovely.

Not quite so sure about When I Lay My Hands On U. Great to hear this rarity, but it's one of those songs that for me works best on the studio version which is fierce and distorted and weird and freaky. This live version lost some of it's freakiness and the guitar solo part after the "...Europa in the hands of Santana" speech sounded a bit messy and not quite right with the rest of the band. Still it was an improvised style and Prince was clearly having a ball. Good to see.

However, was a little disappointed with his website. $77 US is a lot in anyone's language and so I guess you'd expect bang for your dollar which you most definately don't get.
Please don't thing I'm trolling because I'm not but you know, I'm a member of U2's site as well and that's only $50 but you get everything, update to date concert footage, interviews, behind the scenes etc of current tour and tickets. Footage past to present...the whole deal.
So my disappointment really is about the fact that you can't see much of the great one on the net because of his control but you'd certainly expect to get it on his website...which u don't.
But he's still the man. Just keeping it real.

It would be great to see some kind of official release of montreux - full concert(s) may be a bit much to hope for.

I loved ONA/ Las Vegas release - but the disjointed tracking and segues let it down, not to mention the quality of filming. This performance has been cptured far better IMO.

Got the audio rips frome elsewhere. not too bothered about missing out on seeing the vids.

FINALLY watched these clips... and that's the first time I've logged into Lotusflow3r.com in ages...

WONDERFUL.

I got all emotional, too, with the '...slow down...' 'chant' - what a lovely version of LRC. And loved WELMHOU - especially the instrumental break towards the end.

And fantastic to see John Blackwell and Rhonda Smith back! Out of all the line-ups I've seen - and I have a soft spot for the original NPG line-up - I think this is my favourite rhythm section. Just perfection. Of course, Renato is amazing too!

All in all, just great performances... wish I could've been there.
