Both are great. Amazing in fact.

But let's be real about what this is. IT'S A TEASE, and nothing more.

If it were any other artist, it would suggest a DVD. But I think we all know there is little chance of that happening.

Cache etc cleared. Is this lotusflow3r or me?

Hmmm I viewed them both fine within the last 24hrs so it could be something on your PC.

Have you got the latest version (free download) of the Shockwave Flash plug-in installed? - this was the stock answer from the PPs on the old NPGMC lol but it is worth checking.

Indeed.
'The Vault' part XYZ.
Until announced differently, or rather, when I get the stuff in my friggin' hands.

Some people appear to be unable to differentiate between the magic of the music, the performance (yes, it also grabbed me!), and the 'politics' of his weird actions off stage.
Exactly THAT is the edge that separates the sheep from the people that think. There is more than just your ipod or CD-player. I do think about that. Do you?
I think the site is still not up to par after these two songs.
I do hope he can correct this.

I assume you mean that bitch as people will they still show up to the show?
For the record I DON'T support Prince that way anymore. Nor do I buy his music.I know enough people where I can listen to my hearts content, but after 2000 I felt he had jacked me around enough (and the up or downside- depending on how you see it - I stopped liking a lot of his output so it was easier for me). I'm one person, but my money says treat me better or you don't get it.
I was with him when he railed against the industry and it's rip off the artist practices, but his behaviour was not that far off one he got "free". The sick part is that people throw their hands up and say - "oh well...whattaya expect. He has a history..."
His artistic output notwithstanding - he has treated his fans a lot like he got treated by the powers that were. But he got paid, we just pay.

wow

When I joined Lotusflow3r.com 7 days after the Montreux concerts - still on an after-show-high ( which made me forget about my disappointment about DRM-files at the end of the NPGMC-years ) I've been wishing for something like this, Prince showing us some songs from this magnificant event on his homepage.....and then it's When eye lay my hands on -this precious, underpromoted piece of music and LRC -not one of my favorites, but worked out very, very fine !!
Still, there is much more to choose from, and I really hope for a full DVD !!!

But same with Coachella, I really like these videos shown on the site, I have not seen before.
I'm confident, that there will be more coming up on LF, just a feeling....

What about a free LF-members-only concert ? September in Paris ? I know, U can call me a Dreamer too. wink

I agree with you 100%. If you feel that you haven't been rewarded by Prince and the releases for 9 years then by all means move on. My (and probably a few others on here) problem is every thread is riddled with bitter ex-fans who claim to want nothing to do with Prince, don't like anything he's done lately but insist on taking a thread about 2 performances to air their outdated grievances against Prince. We all get it already Prince is an untalented, money grubbing hack with no internet credibility!!! Okay, "WE HEARD YOU". We all choose to hang around and be tortured by Prince but you can feel free to leave anytime you wish.

Finally found these online. Wow, both songs are astounding! My mouth fell open with the Little Red Corvette solo. He did it in a very different way.

When Eye was kind of a darker song here. Very powerful vocals.

Thankfully I didn't have to shell out 77 bucks...lol

It does seem a kinda "knee-jerk" reaction but does it really matter or, sadly, do we expect anything more from him of late? I feel Lotusflow3r was Prince giving the fans what he thought they'd been asking for: a rock album with lots of guitar and an old-school funk one. Ballads compulsory of course.

Now it's time for him to create what he wants again I think. Time will tell. Either way I'm just happy that he's still chucking material out. Not many other artists of his standing are doing that. In fact can't think of any.

The issue is this... if you have an official site which you charge fans $77 a year to be a member of, any concert you perform should be released in some way, audio/video to them. To have bootleggers release both concerts before anything is released on his official site is just sad. Prince wouldn't put these concerts for sale anyway, he'd keep them in the vault, so why not release them in their entirety to his fans that paid to be a part of the site?

It's one thing being beaten to the punch when you're signed and restricted to a record company, but now that he's free and has his own site, it's kind of pathetic that to get your Prince fix, you still have to search the net for bootlegs. I don't think that's an acceptable practice. Even if Prince wanted to charge money for the concerts, I think most fans who are a part of the site would rather give Prince a few bones for his official release than get it free from a bootlegger. If this money is going towards the production of new albums, concerts, new features to the site, we'd give him the money and be happy about it.

Also, if you want to beat people who download the videos and audio and then share them (which isn't right) all Prince has to do is release DVDs or CDs, sign them, limit the release to only members of his website, and instantly fans have something that bootleggers never will. Then who cares about downloads, because they're worthless and the hardcore fans will have something physical and personal from Prince.

Well that didn't work with the web release version of Lotusflow3r (i.e, with The Morning After).

...On the web being and shared within minutes of it going up on Lotusflow3r.

The sooner Prince realises, as other artists have, that there is no real way around sharing. All the better.

I'm not making a moral judgement and defending the sharing, rather pointing out the inevitability of it.

I just think it's a bit weird that Prince goes to a jazz festival and plays - well, not jazz. Sure there's some improvisation, and the definition of jazz is way open... But Montreaux is far from Prince's jazziest work. One Night Alone Live is much jazzier, not to mention his explicitly jazz projects (Madhouse, NEWS). So why would he tone-down the jazz, when he's at a jazz festival?? Makes no sense to me. Almost seems like he's just riding on his star-power, instead of actually respecting what the festival is about. Crashing the venue.

Loads of artist are at this festival and a lot are not doing jazz.
Try doing a little reserch next time and if P was riding his star power what do you think the other non-jazz artist were doing at the fest.

It appears to be normal to have non-jazz performers on jazz festivals.

At The Hague Jazz I witnessed De Dijk. In Montreux, I witnessed Prince.
