Performances of "Little Red Corvette" and "When Eye Lay My Hands On U" from Montreux Jazz Fest were just added to the sphere. Enjoy!

Just watched a little of each, very blocky on my PC, but there are at least 4 different camera angles. Not the usual private recordings that Prince would make I would have thought....bodes well for a possible DVD/Blu Ray release?? Fingers crossed!!

Only 2 songs? He should put the whole concert up, or at least choose the best songs. Pretty weak.

The Montreux logo suggests that the recording itself was commissioned by the festival, not Prince, so possibly this is just the level on which they record all performances.

If Prince was serious and truly about the music, he'd put Empty Room up. That guitar solo is worth $77.

Yeah maybe, but he asked for it to be recorded in HD I heard...so hopefully this will come out. Not holding my breath of course. Watched the recent Madonna concert in HD on TV and felt very jealous that Prince has done nothing in HD.

I don't know, I cannot believe that he did not relase a 21 Nights in London DVD, all that footage, the aftershows etc...would have been amazing and document the record breaking run. Sometimes I wish I was a Kylie or Madonna fan, they get DVD/Blu Rays of all their concert tours.....Prince gives us zip!!

This is good postive news for the site, thanks for the update (I hope they can keep momentum now and build on new content added more regularly). I look forward to watching them when I get home tonight.

I really do hope these are a preview of an official DVD release (like he did with the Aladdin DVD on the NPGMC site back in 2003/4). cool

this is getting a bit ridiculus, complaining for ages that there is no movement on the site, then videos added, more bitching.

Give it a fucking break

The fact they are watermarked by the festival makes me think they own the rights and not Prince thus there may be some issues in him releasing a DVD on his own, or them on their own.

Yep, the logo is stamped on there for a reason.
It's like the Dortmund '88 concert registration (best recording of a Prince concert ever), which was produced by a Dutch company called IDTV, and they actually own that footage, or at least, Prince can't do anything with that recording without paying them as well.

It's unbelievable that Dortmund '88 an Syracuse '85 are the only 2 Full concerts ever released !
And those 2 are the best live perfomances he has released so far.
Wake up Prince !! we don't like edited concerts, we like the raw stuff !
How beautiful do the words have to B, before they conquer every heart

It was an NPGMC release. It was also released on the download only Chocolate Invasion album. As far as I know there is currently no legal way to buy it.

The Montreux Festival films all performances and has been known for releasing performances in the past. I just got the Quincy Jones 75th birthday tribute DVD they released last month and that show was in july 2008. So it may take a while even if they decide to release it.....
