that's so mean...I'm not really complaining...yet. But I can't afford that price and I'm just as big a fan as the person who can afford it. I know for a fact that that price won't fly in the heart of America. Folks, Prince fans for life, either don't have that type of $$ or they just won't spend it...period.

agreed !!! wink

Here is your reality check..everytime Prince decides to plug and play you will not be able to attend, period. There will be other opportunities for all in the not so distant future...so instead of complaining wait patiently for the post show report like 99% of the orgers here-myself included...

So are tickets sold out yet?

I was at jury duty all day mad and couldn't follow the action...

i wouldn't pay over fifty dollars to see prince in a general admission club setting (well, okay, other than the aftershow i paid seventy five bucks for, but that's different, because...it just IS!) - if i'm paying good money, i want to at least know i have a seat that is MINE that other people won't try to scam on or take over or weasel me out of. three hundred bucks for the way people behave at a general admission show is just masochism.

I love GA.

as i am sure many TALL PEOPLE do. pout

i can't complain though - whenever i'm at a GA prince gig, all the chicago freaks are up at the front and they've always been really sweet about letting me be part of the group. i never get hassled at those shows...except, of course, for the DRUNKEN WHALE TAIL. boxed

It's two little club shows - not a tour. Members get early entry, "so get there early!". Where is the history of Prince screwing over his fans? Oh wait, I'm sorry - there isn't one! lol

hug Good to see you post over here.

I can't speak for anyone but I do not feel like Prince is screwing me over. If he does an amazing show with some of those unreleased tracks they asked about at the Club, I will be thrilled to say I was there. If it's the same setlist as the Purple Ticket Party, I still won't be disappointed because I never am with Prince live. Plus, I am going to be with fans and friends of mine from all over the world as well as hanging with two of the most beautiful souls on the planet and taking a well deserved real vacation for the first time ever.

i'm wondering if prince is signing a deal to be a regular vegas performer. the email that was sent out says this will surely be the first of many 3121 performances. there's also been talk about prince opening up a vegas club called 3121 (this is actually just a dub for the Empire, the place he's playing this month).

the email did not mention an upcoming tour, it simply said the first of many 3121 performances. we of course assumed that meant a tour but what if it just means exactly what it says..."the first of many 3121 performances." if the club is called 3121, any performance inside would be a "3121 performance."

just an idea that popped into my head. take it for what its worth.

if this turned out to be the case, i'd have mixed emotions. on one hand, it would be p's version of jumping the shark and would be totally lame. on the other, i wouldn't have to concern myself with getting money together for his tour.

one thing is sure...i'd certainly not pay that money and fly out to see him. the times have changed, lol. he comes to me or i skip it altogether. i mean, shit, he ain't tori. lol

i dunno who i'd make that kinda trek for...i don't even know if i'd do it for la bowie. i subscribe to the "come to me or i skip it" idea - enough good stuff comes to chicago, and every now and then i'll go to new york for something cool, but i have the city on top of the event to enjoy...i don't know if i'm ready for the vegas model of prince just yet.

Rumor I heard out here is that he was wanting (or wants) to make this location an every other Friday venue...maybe he does have the Glam Slam thing in mind with it...if so, lucky for those of us out here I guess...I am from LA, so I used to go to Glam Slam and now if this happens...wow

Ugh. I am not feelin' that at all. I've never been to Las Vegas b/c I have no desire to go there--I just don't think I'd enjoy it... I really don't want to make a "pilgrimage" to LV to see Prince for the 3121 "tour" but I do want to see him in concert again... Now if he opens a 3121 club in NYC, that'd be cool. smile

at least if he did a residency/cabaret-style gig in new york, he'd likely have more room to experiment and do more of the obscure stuff, instead of having to crank out 'little red corvette' and 'when doves cry' for the tourists in vegas every night while aunt bertha loads up on lasagna.

Prince has moved to number 1482! I was charmed by the new European car bumper sticker offered in the NPG store as a little present for a friend. The price for this small and flat gadget is $3,12 (probably some mister or mistress NPG smarty pants forgot a 1 at the end and placed the comma wrong) and the price for shipping jet of this little gem to Europe is $14,82 thumbs up!. Of course I immediatelly payed $17,94 nutty: compared to the concert tickets this is a real bargain! worship I feel so lucky I am able to afford this, I am sure you all would feel the same when you could afford it and then it really is worth it wildsign , of course I will give an elaborate review of the sticker when I receive it: excited. Aren’t we lucky Europeans!? nuts

You're right, it'd be lame...I only meant it half-heartedly, because I'm lazy and don't want to go to Las Vegas, so it'd be cooler for ME if I could just hop on a subway to see Prince. biggrin

I hope he just does a regular tour--if he does the club thing then I feel like there's more of a risk that you go there on x weekend and are told, "oh we're sorry, Prince isn't in Las Vegas this weekend and won't be performing at the club. But the GCS show starts at 8pm..." confused

For all you jokers out there who keep moaning that thsese prices are what everyone in Vegas charges for these shows etc...blah blah blah

Well, have a look at these acts that are playing Vegas on the same Memorial Day weekend.

Note: I stole this from a opost of Gsh at Housequake who stole the info from another lovely lady.

Here's his post:

" Madonna @ MGM -$75 to $375 - Assigned seats

Barry Manilow @ Hilton - $95-$225 - Assigned seats

Celine Dion @ Caesars $79.55 - $204.55 - Assigned seats

And just for a giggle...

Sean Paul @ Mandalay Bay - $51.70 - Assigned seats

Ice Cube @ HOB - $30.00 - General Admission.

Prince @ Empire Ballroom - $312.01 - stand in hot sun for hours in hopes to get a decent location up front.

Not only in the hot sun...and trust me, it will be hot...but in a crappy ass strip mall parking lot! haha It's funny, because they have really made the place nice inside since the Club Utopia days (where, as a matter of fact Prince did some after after hours show YEARS back)..but it's still in that nasty area
