Um, not once was I addressing you specifically--just people in general who take it as a personal insult when Prince charges high ticket prices. Honestly, these prices are quite typical from a performer/artist of Prince's fame/caliber. All I am saying is that these are not the usual prices for his shows--his fans should recognize that Prince has OFTEN been very generous at treating his fans to amazing live shows at relatively low prices. Examples of this would be: The celebrations, sound checks, countless after parties, Paisley Park shows, etc. Again, I will not/cannot pay the price for this show-but it's not air or water-just a Prince concert. What's $650.00 in Vegas, you can make that up with a few good hands of blackjack or a few good pulls of the slot machine!

I mean, you make a good point, but people are people and they're going to react a certain way. I don't think they should be chastised for that, even if maybe they should consider the bigger picture that you've laid out for us so well.

For that price, if it is correct, I hope there's not too much Tamar. The show should probably be ALL Prince.

Respect as always...Well, I don't think the price is over-the-top at all...As I stated in my previous post, it's merely a marketing tool for the midget...I mean look at it this way: When your album is called 3121 and you are charging $312.01 and you are doing it in Las Vegas (read: MONEY TO BURN) there's a method to the madness...It aint nothing but an exclusive event aimed at getting some serious press; that's all...Now if the midget goes about setting such high ticket prices for his upcoming tour (assuming there is a tour) then I'll be joining the rest of you motherfuckers in shitting on Prince for his "greed".... Not sure what you mean by the "respect" comment, but I'm not posting to be disrepectful to anybody, not even Prince. Just stating my honest opinion here. I know that the high-priced Vegas tickets is a marketing tool, you won't get any argument from me there. Judging from the comments that I have read on here and on NPGMC, if Prince is the intelligent guy that I think he is, he won't be charging the same ticket prices for his other shows as he is for Vegas. Let's hope not, anyway. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

But no, I ain't no dope dealer. I'm just a normal negro - a regular cat with glasses sittin' at his desk and doin' his job. I ain't got no damn three hundred twelve dollars for that - it ain't that serious. Alas that's the point. Thank you, Prince, for the invitation to see your concert in Las Vegas amongst the celebrities, moguls and cocaine dealers - obviously this ain't the one for me. I ain't mad at 'cha at all, bruh. You're the same dude that played at Tower on Sunset for $0.00. You're also the same dude that asked for a $100 ticket...but invited us to the soundcheck before the show. That was the shit. Maybe you do like us. Sometimes. Who knows? Maybe they'll film this show...but with actual professional equipment and a crew, unlike the Aladdin DVD. Anybody listening? So I miss him this time. Oh well. C'est la vie. He'll be back...frickin' elf.

Come on...it's one thing to bitch about regular fans not getting into the gig...it's quite another to be naive about the people the midget is trying to attract to this show (celebrities, the press and die-hard fans who got money to burn...) Seriously folks...it's just not that serious to have a torch and pitch fork midget beatdown...Again; the gig is at Las Vegas...Follow the money.....

I live in Las Vegas now...this club is in a horrible location, yes, it is on the strip, but it is in the back of a small strip mall that is a known area for little wanna be gangstas who stand out there and shoot each other. There r always cops parked up in there, yet...these kids still fight with each other and shoot each other...don't believe me? Go type in the address alone in yahoo and u will see news stories on people being shot in that area

Yea, as usual, Prince the moral religious mutant is ripping off his fans with overpriced tickets. Never been to Vegas, so I had to search the location for myself. Just took a peek at the address and ran it through RandMcNally.com. Whatever it is, the venue is located on the 604, just east of I-15 highway in the heart of Vegas. It is north of the Excalibur Hotel and Casino, and basically, I guess, right across the street from the Monte Carlo resort and casino. It is also just south of the Holiday Inn Boardwalk Hotel and Casino. Oh, after further review, the location is the Empire Ballroom. Backers of L.A.'s Viper Room bring a sophisticated dance and live music venue ... the web site says. http://lasvegas.citysearc...room.html? Located near the MGM Grand and Aladdin hotels, this freestanding, 1,300-person capacity club offers a sleek, elegant experience. Local clubbers, industry insiders and visiting singles take refuge on overstuffed couches in a main room decorated in rich red and chocolate brown, while dancers grind under a massive crystal chandelier to DJs or live bands. Eight private cabanas on the balcony are available for canoodling while a patio deck provides views of the Strip. So, there ya go -- 3121 Las Vegas is the Empire Ballroom. E

4 a man who hates 2 con4orm 2 the establishments way of doing things, and loves his fans (excuse me,) friends. And, wants people do dig his music, and feel the way he does, (And most of us, have been there from the beginning with him), Then why does he make those ticket sales so high? Some of us can't afford those prices, and we r the old school ones, who like I said, have been there with him since "4U". If u're about the music only, Then help us, like we've been helping u P. We live in a capitalist nation. He worked his ass off be able to earn that kind of $$$$$. And there have been many times where I have seen Prince do 3 hour private gigs for $7 or less. No one seems to bitch about that--or praise it. Prince isn't robbing you-either you think it's worth it or you don't. It's your choice, so why bitch like Prince is harming you personally? How do you possibly justify that amount? Even if the show is for less than 500 people...dayum...that's a lil hefty.....

Prince is at least offering these tickets to the NPG Music Club members. The price is indeed extremely steep, however, they could have been limited to a select 'few' that have clout (and money) and by invitation only, but he's making the offer to those of us (which is probably most on the org) that are members of his website. One could perhaps look at it this way...if Prince charges $312.01 per ticket for a venue that holds 500, he is in essence making $156K, however, when he does a performance in a large arena like the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, for example, which I believe holds 20,000 for a concert, at $70 a pop, he is making $1.4 million (less expenses of course). I suppose he's losing money doing a show like this one at the Empire ballroom!!!
Anyway, I would love to go and contemplating doing so. I will have to try and scrounge up the $$$ for the tix and airfare from Philadelphia, but I think it might be a once in a lifetime experience. It is my husbands birthday that weekend and my devious plan is to treat him to a weekend in Vegas and then somehow get him to this club for the concert. Wish me luck.
