Hi everybody I was just wondering if anyone has any spare Sydney opera house tickets 4 $300 or less considering I don't get paid till the 18th & I'm a pensioner my chances of getting to a show in Sydney are very slim so org note me if you have spares for under $300 thanks in advance. All of this and more is 4 u. With <3, sincerity and deepest care, my life with u eye share ~Prince~

Lockout laws apply to venues that serve alcohol throughout Sydney CBD and surrounding areas. Not the whole of Sydney. In a nutshell venues are not allowed to accept any more customers after 1:30 AM and last drinks are served at 3AM.
The only venue within the lockout area that's exempt from those laws is The Star Casino.
With a roughly 12AM finish, it'd be difficult for any aftershow to kick off in the city.
With Prince being Prince though I guess anything is possible.
I think people's biggest concerns are going to be getting home. Last trains from the city are usually around midnight, nightride buses are lethal. It's uber or taxi.

That was an amazing time for me. 2 shows and 2 aftershows. Hard to top, but I've managed to secure 2 shows this time round, just hoping for some after show action. I'm still banging on about that eatons hill after show. How good was it! Just got into the hifi one as well. Heading to both state theatre shows after having a panic attack getting the tickets! This is what I was thinking. It sounds like its going to be a nightmare picking up tickets...
I ended up with melbourne 2x 10pm Melb tickets for 16th/17th in Circle and stalls. The auto selecting of seats got me side views.. but can't really complain seeing how many people have missed out completely.

i got tix for one show in melbourme and one at the opera house in sydney. so lucky i was calling and calling and couldnt get a ticket. 3and a half hours later i énd up getting a show in each city. i bought these tickets more than 5hours ago now and still cant belive it. totally trippin

I suspec that it's not so much the auto selection as the allocation into categories in the first place.
I'lll be on the side too, and would bet that the more central seats in that row cost $400.
Never worry about what you didn't get; be grateful what you got. I am.

Rustyrek said: Stall S and Circle H at the Opera House are hardly the positions you'd expect for paying a premium price. With the lack of a seating plan per price category layout and the time pressure when booking a ticket, it is a bit of a scam. I'm sure it is still going to be mind-blowingly fantastic though.
Do all tickets get collected from the venue? It seems like a lot of tickets to process on the day. It is a scam I agree. The time pressure aspect doesn't bother me so much. I fully accept the luck of the draw aspect of buying concert tickets. The fact that category A covers such a wide area bugs me. As you said no clear indication was provided beforehand of the seating area covered by each category ticket.

I bought my tix directly from the ticketek outlet (was lucky to get the cheapest option for the Opera House). The dude at the counter told me that there were only 2 rows of the $100 tix in the entire venue.
Opera House holds just just under 2700 people and State Theatre just over 2700. Roughly 2000 tickets at $400 a ticket over 4 shows = $3,200,000. Even if he played 2 hours per show, that's a $400,000 per hour pay day. Plus Melbourne, plus NZ, plus the cheap seats and merch.
But you know, it's all about the music.

theres no way hes making 200000 from each show. be lucky if he makes that for the whole tour. 2003 tour he made 500000.

lock out only applies to bars and clubs. lock out law has nothing to do with the opera house or state theatre

Yeah Dainty is making a chunk of change but it's understandable pricing in the scheme of things. It's not a huge money spinner as its tiny venues, the 2 shows per night helps but it's still small. Low costs on the tour, no band just a piano or two, and lighting etc but the other element is the Australian Dollar. Prince will be paid in USD and its 70c right now. So even Prince isn't going to make anywhere near the money he made for the 2012 tour. I know it's expensive but I estimate 30/40% will go to the promoter Dainty and he didn't have to advertise all just PR and social media. I think this tour is because Prince has a window open to do a small tour with this new format and because of Paris, he's delayed Europe to the summer and he's got a steady stream of offers from Australia (always does), and then I think the Peach and Black boys campaigning for the Opera House played a role too. Good work boys. And the success and love he got from Aussie crowds over the last 3 tours, it all just fell into place and made sense! He's doing it cause he wants to try something new, a new format and the Opera House is definitely on all major artist's bucket lists. We are lucky. It's gonna be a beautiful night. Well with the demand for tickets and the amount of money to be made , I'm pretty sure now that Prince is going to tour different places world wide with this! Just that you can't pay your mortgage for a month or two to get good seats!

Everybody who got tickets for the Australian/New Zealand shows, please know that I would be very much interested in buying your used tickets (and or VIP passes) after the shows, as I collect these.
Should you have any other used Prince concert tickets, I am interested as well.
Thanks in advance and I hope to hear from you

For some perspective - the venue is tiny. Here's a couple of pics of the interior of the Opera House Concert Hall It's literally a (quite recent) dream come true for me.

Imagine how much harder it would have been for you all to get tickets if there were loads of $200 and $100 seats and few $400 ones. The high price for most tickets is what scared the casuals off and freed the way for the hardcore. I know loads of people who are keen to go in Auckland but only if they can get cheap tickets so it's all good. If the milk turns out to be sour, I aint the kinda pussy to drink it!

Sounds good. I don't think I can afford 2 tickets for each performance though. At this rate with the fees added on, it will be one $400 ticket and one $200 ticket if I am lucky. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
