seems that touts had a large number of tickets already and thats obviously pissed him off....the only way around it is either queuing for hours to get in...which would be good for the diehards...or ticketless concerts...just pick your tickets up at the venue with the card that you used to pay for them online...

The Vienna venue told ust they have no idea when the sale will be but sure not today and they assume very shortly before the show

Where is that coming from? it wouldn't surprise me- but then it's because the agencies he's using to sell tickets run the touting websites themselves and just put loads on sale there rather than the 'official' sites.

Cut out the agencies, book through his site, names at door, no tickets, photo id required would surely be the mest method to get round this nasty business?

I don't think demand is going to be a problem, he's never had trouble filling venues in Europe. And the demand can't be measured until the tickets go on sale anyway, so that theory seems like nonsense to me.

The sale for Vienna was announced just yesterday - I am sure they already knew about Jeff Lynne/Ultravox going on sale too when they announced the Prince sale

This makes no sense. 2 tickets per person, same card and photo ID, how can a tout buy a 100 and sell them at a marked up price?

Did you wait in the cold for 3 hours until 6 am and were number 9 in line and have no idea if you will get a ticket when the sale will start another time ?

I do agree, in theory that of course he could fill those venues, but i'm a long time prince fan, who would easily spend all his disposable income to see this. I would in theory pay with a finger to see a small show, just prince.

I just have no way of judging if its appealing to the wider gig going masses.This close to Christmas and the money he is asking for tickets. Even people here seem hesitant to part with cash asked.

Outside of the org, the general interest seems muted. Twitter does not seem to care (if that is an indicator).

Was it ONA tour where he limited tickets to name on tiket with photo ID? That worked pretty well for NPG music club memebers and general sale. How hard can it be.

Yep, something doesn't add up there.

Regarding the limit of 2 tickets per person for the tour, it seems to me that Prince really wants as many people as possible to see this. Or perhaps he's just bored of Unique's smiling face in the front row of every gig and wants a change of scenery?
