Bought my tickets for Friday at Manchester from eventim and they arrived yesterday, Special Delivery.

I think what happened a lot of people is that, in the crazy panic of trying to get *any* tickets on a site that is dangerously closing to crashing, they desperately take *any* tickets they can get. When things later calm down a bit and more tickets are released or more easily accessible they discover that better (i.e. closer to the stage) tickets are available so they buy them, with the intention of selling the earlier ones. With mass hysteria and people prematurely slapping 'SOLD OUT!!!!!' stamps over everything I can see their thinking - if demand is that high then of course they'll be able to sell them - at face value i.e. not trying to rip anyone off. Unfortunately with these shows it's the scalpers who created this situation and at least they'll be left out of pocket

NPGMC failed on me so I was left to scramble for general sale tickets. I tried to secure tix whilst at work, my wife was trying too and so were my folks. In our case I got the number I needed before my other helpers did...but had we all got through at the same time then we'd have 3 times more than needed. I'm not saying that's the case with everyone but, in the hysteria of this sale, everybody thought it would be do or die on tix [Edited 5/8/14 4:40am] P-p-e-n-g-u-i-n......the P is silent

Thanks Manhattan11 and PPenguin. Do i really need to go into the who what where why and and how i got so many tickets it's simple as the guys pointed out and I keep saying... better one kept coming up and I was like a kid in a candy store thinking of at least 8 casual friend fans who may want the ones I was discarding and if not would sell on at face value on Gumtree etc. Simple. No one else needs to add their 2 pence to this now. Can we move on. Jeez. Whatever you heard about me is true

Not accusing anyone on here of being a Tout but those who bought excess tickets must be very wealthy indeed. Particularly at those prices. Thinking of the 3121 tickets and that we could have 10 tickets for less than the price of 3 seated makes me feel quite ill. Gutted about the availability left and that those of us, like myself, who bought at Midday and have crap seats to those who bought later. If everyone bought more than they needed we'd all be up shit creek without a paddle. It's not just the expense that has put many off it's the fact that it costs a fortune to arrange late Accomodation and expensive train tickets.nevertheless I'm extremely excited about the gigs!

It's not necessarily that people are wealthy when buying more tickets, it comes down to circumstance. Allot of UK fans would not have seen Prince Live since O2 2007 gigs, before Feb this year I hadn't, I'm sure lots of fans have bought tickets that they cannot really afford and have put them on credit cards as they were so expensive, but it could be another 7 years before he plays again in the UK. What's worse is that allot of fans have done that and paniced when tickets went on sale at 12:00, the common ticket sites were crashing, giving no results, saying no tickets available, so people paniced and bought the first tickets they were offerred to secure a ticket wherever, there wasn't much time to check locations or try again as it felt like you was against a ticking clock and you would not get better/any tickets if you did not buy there and then.
That's just good marketing, the ticket companies know there will be a big demand from the fans who will attend whatever the costs, but nowhere near enough fans to sell out straight away, so now we see much better seats being released to tempt the casual fan. So for the fans who bought straight away and didn't get the location they really wanted, to see great tickets come on the market now is a real killer and some fans will take the hit and risk buying better in the hope of selling their original tickets for face value/at a small loss.
I am in a similar position, I arranged with 2 good friends that we'd buy tickets for the 16th at Manchester as I live in Manchester and they are from down South, so I could put them up, I was online searching the usual sites at 12:00 and was getting no results, at about 12:20 I was offered Block 205 for £90 + fee's each, I just bought 3 straight away, I really wanted £135 lower tier but had no results. 15 minutes later i'm online and the 17th go's onsale for Manchester, quick search as i'm on the site and I get 3 great tickets in block 115 next to the stage, so I buy them at £135 each.
Now one of my friends cannot get to Manchester on the Friday in time due to work, it was always touch and go, but as the Saturday gig is now available and he has a good ticket, he would rather not rock the boat at work. We decided to buy 2 new tickets earlier in the week and got really good tickets in Block 115 for the Friday night at £135 (what I originally was after). I am trying to sell the 3 Block 205 tickets for face value/ ONO, in no way did I plan/do I want to make any profit, I am reconciled to making a loss, but I would rather try to sell here than go via stubhub etc where they make their pound of flesh touting my tickets.
Orgnote me with an offer if you would like 3 Block 205 Row E tickets (originally £90 + fee's, willing to listen to fair offers.

I was lucky enough to see both shows in Manchester at the Academy and SBE in February, these were great gigs, so don't be put off that its 3EG, I was hoping for NPG as well as i'd seen 3EG so recently, but either way they will be great gigs, he seems in a really good mind set at trhe moment enjoying himself, which makes the gigs all the better for it.
The set lists he played were a good mix of old & new, stuff like I would Die 4 U/Hot Thing that I never thought I'd hear live again, these were on the revamped sampler set, but 3EG play along and he's pretty much doing the full songs and not short teasers.
I'm sure you can pick up a decent ticket for a good price with they way the tickets are available, he's really putting in great performances at the moment, so if you get the opportunity, go for it, i've seen most of the tours since 86 and the recent gigs are some of the best I've been at, albeit at a small venue which does make a difference, but I think Manchester will be rockin for these gigs.

. The first lot of Hit n Run were to gauge how well recieved 3rd Eye Girl was to justify these larger shows I think, which overall the reviews were great, I was listening to one of the Manchester shows earlier and there is actually quite a few hits in there. I know what you mean about seeing a Hits show with NPG, would have loved to have seen that myself, but 3rd Eye live are a brilliant the girls are such a tight unit! You wont come away dissapointed because NPG aint there or he hasnt played as many hits as you had hoped. I wouldn't count out NPG horns section or something with him if which would be good, but im not holding my breath . I dont think his back cataloge could sell out arenas as much these days, the majority of his fan base have other things to pay for, kids and everything else than £70 upwards on a ticket, he has to apeal to a wider age range which he can't do just playing stuff the older crowd liked back in the day. , You honestly wont be dissapointed when you come out anyway

I wound up giving a great ticket to a stranger and we had a total blast. Philmoreliz

but you are just inventing your own meanings for things that already have long defined meanings. hop park was a proper show, as were the shows earlier this year. how tickets are distributed or anything else has nothing to do with it

I've been moaning about the length of that show compared to all of the others and particularly the one straight after who got 3 hrs to our 1hr/1.5hrs(a good chunk of which was trying to get us to clear out) despite the length of time we'd queued. Did you not notice the setlist was the bare bones, all other gigs had those songs and then extras...anyway, I'm certain these coming gigs will be longer. I've been close before but that was crazy to be so close you could see his pores and the hair dye (or was it black sweat)running down his temples [Edited 5/9/14 3:17am] P-p-e-n-g-u-i-n......the P is silent

The Hop Farm set was a full on Prince show, over 2 hours long and and very much along the lines of what had been done at the O2 and W2A. I bought tickets for the Prince day purely because Prince was there, arrived a couple of hours before he was due on stage and there were a lot of people arriving with and after me.
Don't forget that whole day was only put on because they got Prince, prior to that Hop Farm was a 2 day festival. When it was first announced it only had Prince down as playing and other acts were 2ba. RIP
