I havent had mine yet - keep us informed so I know when to panic !!!!!

I did print @ home from Manc Arena (eventIM) and the email with the PDF was sent within seconds of booking.

Birmingham tickets for 15th and Manc for the 16th both arrived today (brum via Gigsandtours, Manc via Eventium)

Nothing for 19th from Ticketmaster yet but they do say that you may not get them until 48hrs before the event and should wait. But then it also says call them if they dont turn up...that's really helpful !!!

wasn't what?

i was at the front again and it was a great gig. you can see me in one of the official photos from the show. i'm wearing a prince t shirt so easy to spot

Me too (in the photos) ....I was joking about 'proper' show. I've been moaning about the length of that show compared to all of the others and particularly the one straight after who got 3 hrs to our 1hr/1.5hrs(a good chunk of which was trying to get us to clear out) despite the length of time we'd queued. Did you not notice the setlist was the bare bones, all other gigs had those songs and then extras...anyway, I'm certain these coming gigs will be longer. I've been close before but that was crazy to be so close you could see his pores and the hair dye (or was it black sweat)running down his temples [Edited 5/9/14 3:17am]

but didn't you just go back in for the second show? most of the people i know did that. same with EB. front row at the first show then the back for the second show. it was weird being at the back at EB as that was the first time i've seen prince in general admission and not been at the front in over 20 years. the o2 was different as it was all seating and i sat in different locations throughout the shows to experience all angles, even choosing to sit literally at the back row upstairs, the highest furthest away point to see what it was like (my ticket was for there but it was empty so i just sat there for the experience), but i got front row at all the aftershows. so to go from that to the back was really weird like an out of body experience. at least the venue wasn't big so it wasn't bad. just weird for me

but you are just inventing your own meanings for things that already have long defined meanings. hop park was a proper show, as were the shows earlier this year. how tickets are distributed or anything else has nothing to do with it

Hop Farm wasn't a Prince show, it was Hop Farm Festival. Prince was just one of the many acts on that day. The main headliner, sure, but still just one of many. The crowd weren't there solely to see Prince, hence the hits show.

As for the shows earlier this year.. yes, the performances themselves may have been 'proper', but the organisation surrounding the whole thing wasn't. Shows sometimes weren't announced until the day of the show itself, tickets were sold on the door with nobody having any idea how much they were or if they were even gonna get in, and if they did, how long the show would be, or if they'd be kicked out to let people in for a second show.

Most people can't just drop everything and rush off to a last minute Prince gig that could potentially cost £70. When I say 'proper shows' - I mean advance sale, advance warning, proper tickets, proper planning, proper promotion.. Like every other band/artist does. The kind of show that everyone gets a chance to try and go to. He hasn't done one of those outside London since the ONA shows in Manchester in '02, and hasn't done any kind of arena tour like this in almost 20 years.

regardless of what you say, hop park was a proper show. the organisation etc doesn't make the show element any more or less proper. likewise this years shows were proper shows. the ticket arrangements etc are a seperate thing altogether. anyone could have bought a ticket to hop park and went and saw a full show, and likewise anyone could have turned up at the recent shows and saw him too

No, I managed to scrape together £70 (was surprised it turned out to be that much as all had be £10 before and twitter opinion was £50) and I coujdnt afford a 2nd show but equally I had no way of getting home if I stayed - it was already a 3hr journey that had started at 4am.

Anyway - it's gone. awesome closeness just disappointed in comparison yo other gigs but, had it been a 1 off, I bet I'd have been over the moon for life although, if you were there at the end when it was clear he wasn't coming bsck, there were quite a few boos

the end of the first show? it wasn't a surprise as we knew before we went in that 3 shows were planned and the EB shows were short and typically a 3eg show is 75-90 mins and that's what we got. the second show was just extended as the third show was cancelled. it wasn't planned. similarly in manchester there was going to be a second show after the first night and that was cancelled as not enough people turned up and the show was extended. they never bothered doing that on the second night

Do you think it'll be 90 mins again or, knowing the venue size, prices and recent gig lengths, that it'll be a longer show?

I hope it is longer because he's shown he and the band can and will do it when they want to. Think it would be odd to come back to the UK with exactly the same show

The Tickets for Manchester say Show starts at 8pm, I can't see them having a support starting that late if doors open at 6pm. Curfew is usually 10:30/11pm so i think we'll get 2 hours upwards.

Seriously hoping for a 2 1/2 hour plus show for the price we have paid, as some of the o2 shows P was barely actually on stage for over 65 mins in performance time. Anyone any aftershow rumours or likely venues?? Plus if booking accomodation make sure it can be cancelled incase he does a croke on us!!wink

Yeah she was on in manchester on Wednesday I think, she has a gap in her tour dates of about 2 weeks after london tonight, he worked with her and went to check her out at Coachella so might be possible but for it to say show starts at 8pm I'd imagine its just prince otherwise it will be a short set if the curfew is 10:30.

I dont think he'd cancel now, he has two albums in the pipeline along with the PR re-issue, Him & Warner bros wouldn't want the negative press it would bring smile

in feb the only shows that were short were ones where he had more than one show the same evening. all the rest were long. but then he usually had breaks of days between shows. if he is doing 3 nights in a row he's unlikely to play for really long sets but i'd imagine a good 2 hour set at least

e3g have never done aftershows. plus he usually doesn't do aftershows if he has a show the next day. plus the schedule is relatively tight, so going from birmingham to manc the follow day makes that unrealistic, after the first manc show and travelling they are prolly going to be tired and jetlagged. then after 2nd manc show they have to move back to birmingham. then they have 2 days but have to get up to glasgow. then right after glasgow go to leeds. all gear needs to be dismantled, packed, loaded, transported, unloaded, unpacked, setup for the next show. it's not just the band to consider but the logistics of the crew and gear

croke was never officially confirmed by prince but this gig is

I'd be surprised if it's the same show again - seems odd to do uk gigs and then, 3 months later, start a tour in the UK with the same stuff. Having said that if the gig was a carbon copy of Shep bush or Msnchester which I read fantastic things about then I'd be happy.

I'm standing again but I'll be blowed of I'm queuing 12hrs again

Just spotted the TV Ad, and made me think, to be fair, he has sold out quite a bit from the power of Social network alone, and a couple of news sites running the story, no adverts, posters etc... I think if they are running that ad a few times the 2nd manchetsr edate should shift quite alot more tickets
