Abby Clancy and Prince on the same billing? I'd pay to see that.

This would be my first time seeing Prince live. If my grandparents let me go, of course... I'm excited! (Though I don't know anything yet, LOL) Any mainland gigs...?

Unless they announce soon, I doubt I will be able to make it to London with arranging travel, hotels & work, i'm sure there will be allot of fans in the same position, I hope the tickets are cheap or he will struggle to fill venues with casual fans at short notice.

There's enough hipsters, celebs and people from all over the world in London and surrounding towns who would wanna see Prince so he'll sell out no problem - and with smaller venues imagine how many tickets will end up with corporate or the network of promoters. It'll likely to be a struggle to get tickets if anything and then to get time off work etc to travel if ur not living in the south. Gonna try but fear it'll be a right royal bunfight.

…either way its an exciting and tempting start to 2014!!!!

That depends how big a venue he plays, if he plays somewhere like O2 and charges £100+ he will struggle to sell out, its allot more attractive at £31.21, but that was based on heavily subsidised tickets from O2 to launch the venue and decent notice.

Smaller venus he will sell out easy, but I think he'll wanna do bigger venus to maximise £££, to bring over bands/crew and move around will cost allot.

In Europe he has played festivals more recently, that's easier and cheaper as the stage/crew are already there, Prince just had to turn up and collect the promoters cheque and not worry about logistics and ticket sales.

Onecrush - none taken. I try to have a good thought once a year! And that's my second 2014. Ecnirp ur right. But the noises we're hearing suggest thirdeyegirl, tho it also sounds like the npg have been rehearsing eh? Maybe a mixture if both? That'd be well cool - but too much to hope for? My thought was based on the assumption of small venues and a limited number of shows. Either way tempted once they're announced even if I don't get a ticket getting a room London over a weekend and trying to get an aftershow - if there are any! Roll on the third… wink

What exactly are you basing any of this on? The ad says he is playing "Iconic Venues" in and around London. O2 hardly fits that description. Face facts: No one has any idea what he is actually up to except he is promoting his new album PLECTRUMELECTRUM and will be playing with 3rdEyeGirl somewhere starting next week.

I've heard a rumbling about a performance on The Voice - well, a friend of mine said she read it somewhere. He does have loose connections to Will.I.Am and Kylie.

It would be great promotion for him, both a young and older audience watching.

Albert Hall would be the dogs !!! 'Iconic venues in London' ? ..... Jazz Cafe, Roundhouse, Hammersmith Appollo, Koko, Wag ? ??!?!?!?

But accoustics are terrible at the RAH, I'm hoping for somewhere smaller. Roundhouse for me would be a good choice, and the Hammersmith shows were good. Bush Hall?! Or maybe he'll do venues that aren't commonly used as music venues. The Globe anyone?!

The Globe !! ooh that would be interesting ! -- Somerset house ? but that is outdoor so prob no go ?

Udo, Köln has not been a fortunate city for Prince shows, disasters the last 2 times there.

I've taken liberty to customise your tour schedule, so we are both happy. highfive

I know.

Both the 1998 as well as the 2011 shows at the Lanxess Arena were disasters.

But the 1998 Live Music Hall show was good.

It's no problem.

I also meant to imply that if the 'tour' would pan out like such a thing I would go and see some shows.

This is all speculation, as 90% of the chat on this forum is, I'm sure the announcement was designed to start this sort of chat/publicity. the O2 is seen as an Iconic venue by Prince fans due to the 21 nights, its also now got the notoriety of Michael Jacksons Ill fated gigs. Wembley is an Iconic venue in London, but I can't see him playing to 80,000 there in the rain !!!

My original post was more in frustration that allot of long term fans like myself are going to find it very difficult to get to London based gigs at short notice due to Life/Work/Money commitments, based on the announcement earlier this week gigs are due to start in 4 days, so its just very frustrating seeing opportunities to attend reduce day by day.

My point was if he plays larger venues, he may struggle to fill them at really short notice as they are based around London, my guess is he will play 4-5 nights somewhere like Brixton Academy to 4000 people a night and I will not be able to get there.

London is the only thing we are not specualting on !!!!

So, are we assuming that tix will be sold through 3rdeyegirl.com or will they be available through the usual vendors? If so, which ones are folks gonna go for (thinking of which is the least likely to buckle under the wieght of demand)

I'm certainly not assuming anything. Just wishing that we could maybe get a presale through our 3rdeyegirl.com accounts maybe. Nothing wrong with dreaming is there? wink
