INSIDERS INSIST PRINCE WILL B TOURING AUSTRALIA THIS YEAR ... In Aussie newspaper the Herald-Sun yesterday there was an article on ppl who were rumored 2 tour downunder this year. Some of the rumored artists were Coldplay & Paul Macartney due 2 the A$ being good. But like I said the difference in words when it came 2 Prince was that they INSISTED when it came 2 Prince and rumored when it came 2 the other artists...So fingers & toes crossed 2 my fellow Aussie compats. Its been nearly 10 years between gigs and 20 since D & P tour...I've got a good feeling that this will happen...

It "sort of" makes sense. Audiences are down in the well served Prince areas, I think I'd take the show somewhere I hadn't been accessable for over a decade.
Though I think (in-case they're listening) they's sell out and make more money in London

Goodness, but I fear it will be another "rumour" and stay that way. But then again, he has toured everywhere and the $1 is good here. I suppose when I see Asia on a tour list, then I will get excited. BUT it breaks me he doesn't have a fan club so I get the best seats with my fellow prince fans (real deal fams) True Funk Soldier - Aussie/New Zealand

If this actually happens, it will b in September. It has long been documented that Prince has been booked 2 open the new Sydney casino. Im guessing that a proper tour will b planned around that. But a stadium tour? I doubt it. He only just sold 2 shows each in Melbourne and Sydney in 13000 seat arenas last time he toured, unless hes only planning 1 stadium show in each city then maybe. But after all the rumours ive heard and information ive read, im about 80% sure he's coming, its just a matter of waiting until its all confirmed. But just remember, If u know Prince like i know him, ull know that he changes his mind every 5 mins! [Edited 2/26/12 1:21am] If ure radio aint on the FUNK, then ure radio aint on!!!

I'm fairly the sure the Crown Casino was reopened last year and Stevie Wonder played for the opening, actually. I can make you H.A.P.P.Y

No, Crown casino is in Melbourne. The new Sydney casino is called The Star. Yes ure right it did reopen last year and Stevie Wonder did play there. But the actual redevelpoment isnt finished yet and the full official opening of The Star will b in Sep this year. Here is a link 2 the 1st casino rumour...

Since then we have gone 2 this.......

Where are you getting September from?
The only rumour I've seen regarding Star was about the reopening (still regarded as the "Official opening" on their website) in September 2011, which is the aforementioned one that Stevie played at.
I know there are other - individual - elements still to open, but I haven't seen anything about September 2012?
I'd be surprised if he scheduled a tour around that anyway, because it would be counter-productive. The Stevie Wonder tickets were extremely expensive, but the thing was that it was the only way you could see him in Australia. If he was doing a tour at the same time, I guarantee they would have had more trouble selling tickets.
I've given up on the Prince/Star rumours - but if it happens, I suspect it will be independent of a tour and probably with a minimal band line-up.
The current rumours seem to be more centred around the end of the year - late spring, early summer. I'd be surprised by a stadium tour as well, for a few reasons, and I certainly hope he doesn't go any bigger than arenas, but still, anything is good
(Also, someone recently pointed out to me that the latest rumour about a stadium tour was in an article about a stadium up in Queensland, so it's possible they just dropped his name as a 'rumoured artist' to get a bit more publicity )
I'm sure something's in the works, but what it is will no doubt remain a mystery until Prince is ready to reveal it

Im basing my theories on the information i provided with the links. The 1st 1 about the casino clearly states "next year" which is now this year. The next 1 with lady Gaga lists One Dimension as a possible act 2 b touring this year, and they have just been announced. The stadium tour rumour im really not sure about. Lets just c what happens. Bonnaroo lineup announced: Radiohead, Bon Iver, Skrillex and moreupdated 4:49 PM EST, Tue February 14, 2012
STORY HIGHLIGHTS
(EW.com) -- South by Southwest is right around the corner, and Coachella's already prepping its polo grounds for a two-weekend extravaganza, which means it's time to look forward to that third major warm-climate festival: Bonnaroo. Manchester, Tennessee's, second most exciting tourist attraction (we see you, Old Stone Fort!) will take place June 7-10 this year, and its newly announced lineup is as impressive as ever. Perhaps the biggest headliner are Radiohead (who are also doing Coachella); also on the top of the masthead are the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Phish, who are no strangers to Bonnaroo's muddy festivities. Some of the fest's bigger acts -- many of which you may remember from the Grammys -- include Skrillex, the Shins, Bon Iver, Bad Brains, the Civil Wars, comedian Aziz Ansari, and the reunited Beach Boys (hopefully without Foster the People, though they will be there too). Of course, there's many, many more. Check out the full list of artists below: Radiohead Red Hot Chili Peppers Phish The Beach Boys Featuring Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, and David Marks Bon Iver The Avett Brothers The Shins Foster the People Skrillex Aziz Ansari Dispatch Feist The Roots Alice Cooper SuperJam Black Star The Word featuring John Medeski, Robert Randolph, and North Mississippi Allstars Ludacris Ben Folds Five Flogging Molly Spectrum Road featuring Cindy Blackman Santana, Jack Bruce, John Medeski, and Vernon Reid Mac Miller Childish Gambino Major Lazer tUnE-yArDs Afrocubism Flying Lotus Umphrey's McGee Little Dragon St. Vincent City and Colour The Civil Wars Young the Giant Two Door Cinema Club Punch Brothers NEEDTOBREATHE Fitz & the Tantrums Bad Brains Yelawolf Dawes Battles Danny Brown The Black Lips SBTRKT Phantogram Kendrick Lamar Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires The Kooks The Joy Formidable The Antlers Kathleen Edwards Mimosa Kurt Vile & the Violators Alabama Shakes Das Racist Delta Spirit Gary Clark Jr. Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk Laura Marling Trampled by Turtles Mogwai The War on Drugs Ben Howard Grouplove Blind Pilot ALO The Devil Makes Three White Denim EMA Here We Go Magic K-Flay The Lonely Forest Mariachi El Bronx Big Freedia Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. The Soul Rebels Kvelertak SOJA Steven Bernstein's MTO Allstars Plays Sly Big Gigantic Sarah Jarosz Orgone Darondo Fruit Bats Moon Taxi
