New topic PrintableHave done over a dozen shows with the symbol stage, I would say the prime seats are:
The front of block 120 for the view
The Blue floor at the front side of the symbol point for view +dancing.
I found the tables too close as the stage is so high.
You can't go wrong being at the front rows of 108 thru 119. The view will be fantastic. .

It could be that there will be pre-shows before the tour starts! http://www.drfunkenberry....dian-tour/
We also hear that it looks like there might be a private show or 2 somewhere before they take off to Canada. We will keep you informed with what we find out.

How great would that be if those shows were in my city, Quebec city !!!!! Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''
If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either.

I'm so mad I missed his Welcome to America tour. I just became Prince obsessed about a month ago! I'll have to figure out a way to get to Canada. Maybe he will have a pre Canada show in NYC.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
By the wording "…before they take off for Canada", I understand that the potential private shows will be held in the US and not in Canada, unfortunately for you

Hahaha I just didn,t wnat to understand that part
Maybe he'll play in MPLS! Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''

I just thought I'd add in case Prince's people are watching the forums...
COME PLAY IN THUNDER BAY!!!
Prince has got a 3 day break in between London, ON and Winnipeg, MB.
In that time the tour is skipping over about 2000 kilometers (ie. about 1200 miles) of Canada! Thunder Bay is right in the middle of that.
We've got a world-class venue with the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium at the address: 1 Paul Shaffer Drive (Paul Shaffer was born and raised here you know). Jeff Beck was just there October 21st rocking Thunder Bay to it's core at an extremely well-received show (some called it a "religious experience") with the great Rhonda Smith.
And on top of that Thunder Bay can boast that Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino was born here and got his first taste of promoting concerts while a student at our university, years before he moved into the big leagues putting on such events as the Welcome 2 Canada tour.
On a more personal note: By crazy luck, after 5 years of daydreaming about it (literally almost every day since I watched Purple Rain for the first time), I was able to have my first Prince concert experience from front row center in Montreux in 2009. I followed that up about 3 months later by driving 6 hours from Thunder Bay to Minneapolis for the October 2009 Paisley Park concert. I'm sure I don't need to tell anyone here: Both were life changing experiences. Unfortunately, since then Prince hasn't toured close enough to me that I could afford to go see him. I plan on driving the 7 hours to Winnipeg to see the December 8th show, but if Prince could come play Thunder Bay (and give me a little notice so I don't go to Winnipeg too early!) it would make a dream of mine come true. Plus, I'm sure it would make dreamers out of the many people of Thunder Bay who, due to our remote location, have never had the opportunity to witness Prince's awe-inspiring talents firsthand.
And besides, in Canada, Thunder Bay is the closest city to Minnesota.

Will they not let you purchase tickets for the specific sections? Not all seats in the sections listed are equal in terms of the view. Man this is so last minute. The only info so far is for Toronto :\

OHHH! He's coming to Winnipeg finally~Last time he was here, 2002... I AM SO EXCITED! To all my classmates who make fun of me for liking Prince... you don't know WHAT you're missing out on I LOVE YOU PRINCEE NO MATTER WHAT!

I think I was looking at the toronto, but here is the lowdown no matter the venue.
First of all, Prince plays 80% standing in the center of the symbol, but facing the point of the symbol. Look at the superbowl for reference. So, avoid seats around the "back" or round head of the symbol.
Secondly, the stage is 6 foot high. The front rows of tier one will be level with Prince, the floor seats are low.
Sitting in the VIP tables, you are looking up at 45 degrees to see prince. Sure he is real close, but i found them a little to clinical and low.
The standard floor seats around the point of the symbol give a better view and is great for dancing. The Floor seats around the bulbus end of the symbol are terrible. You are looking up, and Prince rarely goes round there. They should almost be considered restricted view, despite the cost.
You can't go wrong getting a standard seat on the floor or lower sides in the 180 degrees at the pointed end.
If you get to chose the sides, then Prince mostly goes to the "trumpet" side, as the piano occupies the "curl" side. But I have sat in both and they are good.
Most importantly, don't panic. The symbol stage in the middle is large, and in any medium sized area you will get a good view, and most importantly, a good vibe. The stage and lighting are excellent. .

I went to six W2A concerts which had the symbol stage and I can tell you hands down that close loge seats on the side at the middle of the symbol beat any floor seats in front of the stage. You can see everything with seats on the side of the middle section of the symbol--elevated seats, that is! The symbol stage is really tall and tall speakers block viewing at certain front views for the floor. Good luck to all who go to see W2C! Thanks! That's helpful. I went to one show in NYC, but I was a little too far for my taste. Saw him in Montreal this Summer (front row!!), so now I think I'll go with the W2A VIP package (but not the tables).
