This smiley one totally sums up the night! Yes I was a tiny bit 'disappointed' with the set list being literally just the big hits, but I do get why it needed to be that, and it totally worked because the non-prince fans in the crowd were going wild, the whole atmosphere was so fantastic!
But even if he didn't reward us big super-geeks with a few obscure old album tracks the energy with which the 'standards' were delivered was quite unbelievable - he seemed to be having such a good time, smiling, joking, literally jumping like it was his first performance in months!!!!!
Hopefully we were a good crowd and we brought out the best in him.... and hopefully he'll come back soon because that was 2+ hours of total bliss!!!!! You might not like the taste but I'm still gonna stick your face in this FUNK

Doffie...I have to say, you capture the most amazing Prince concert pics. Fit for an album. Each pic tells its own story. [Edited 7/4/11 12:20pm]

yeah, there were a few people i wanted to meet, but this kinda setup made it impossible. i did meet some great people there, many old faces and a few new ones. it's cool when someone comes up to you and says "i know you" or "are you unique from the org" and they've never even seen what you look like, although looking like brad pitt sometimes i think people think they are meeting angelina jolies hubby or something

When Purple Rain and Kiss started I thought oh here we go again BUT THEY SOUNDED BETTER THAN EVER BEFORE! I was very surprised and I actually felt goosebumps when the PR solo started I didn't get that at the O2.
Whether it was the great sound quality or he was just so on form but wow!
And his butt shaking dance at the end of Kiss, lol x100!

doffie, was it you who had the big fuck off DSLR with massive lens that security took off you at the start of the prince set but gave you back in time for the first "encore"? i think it was pentax on the branded camera strap and you had a baseball cap and shades with a band holding them round the back? standing next to a guy with a purple pork pie hat? i vaguely recognised that guy from somewhere like the prince parties. i don't usually pay the slightest bit of attention to guys, i just remember the hot chicks as i'm pretty shallow, although honest, good looking and modest

Had THE most amazing time - the BEST I've ever seen him. I can't put into words how great the show was, worth the hours and hours of waiting. And it was great to meet Unique, thanks for your stories and encyclopedic knowledge! Looking forward to the next time:-D

it was great to meet you too. sorry i went a bit quiet at the end, but even i can't keep it up for 14 hours. i was dying at the end. didn't get back till 3am, so we were away for 19 hours that day with no food, and no peeing for about 15 hours
and i liked your style for getting closer to the front

hello all...just got back home from the festival...had a great time and really enjoyed the whole vibe... . as a few people have said on here...mobile phones didnt work very well so unable to meet up with people i wanted to from the org...i was looking for squirrel's purple pole but the only poles i saw were at the open urinals (very strange having to pee in full view of women ) ..so i didnt get the chance to meet anyone although i did bump into one orger who lurks a lot on here (cant remember his name...sorry) and a guy i work with !..... . first thing....i thought the sound quality of the pa system was the best i have ever heard....it was cystal clear from anywhere in front of the stage...right back to the very back....prince has never sounded as good imo....whatever they did it worked and that helped make the whole experience so much more enjoyable...i think that unique mentioned that the bass was too loud but i would rather have the bass too loud than too quiet and unique WAS right at the front....amazing sound...well done hop farm... . weather....perfect...it was warm but cloudy so it never got TOO warm...again...makes the whole experience soo much better... . i got there as eliza was playing so i saw a bit of imeda may (good) larry graham (please stick to the bass...please) and tinie tempah (so-so)... . prince...well by the time tinie had finished playing....me and my girlfriend were about 20 rows from the front to the right of the stage...he ...of course...kept us waiting an hour before he appeared to wild applause and started with 'we live to get funky' (great track)....after about ten fabulous mins... my girlfriend tells me her bladder is about to burst so i have to sadly vacate my hard earned position and went to the very back to the toilets (walking away from a prince gig...very strange )...i eventually watched the rest of the gig from a good bit back but the sound quality was amazing....prince was on fire...he played the hits but what else do you play to a festival crowd ?...but he did play 'cool' that most of the crowd wouldnt know but it sounds soo good live... . once larry graham came on....i know...i go on about him and he is a great great bass player ...but...he ruined the vibe once again and everyday people and whatever they played after it sounded like a mess to me...too much going on...but...overall...a great gig considering it was a festival gig....not as good as one nite alone 2002 gig for me or the last night at the o2 in 2007 but ...great nontheless... . me and pam got off our mark as soon as the gig finished and walked for about a mile before we got a taxi so didnt get caught in the 3 hour wait to get out the area... . would love to go to dublin but no way i can afford it so unless he comes back to the uk (which is unlikely )...thats it for this year... . thanks for a great day out prince... just as well we did not meet then, my GF is obsessed with Angelina, so I probably would have had to watch the concert on my own, and she would have never have been converted... If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

its kinda annoying when people are coming from all over the place that you know and you can't mee them. even at the indigo2 i would leave my spot front row and go and say hi to people further back and still return to my spot, but it wasn't as civilised at hop park
the thing i didn't understand about tiny temper is that people shot 2pac, biggie, fiddy and jam master jay, but no cunt even slit tiny's throat. what gives?

lol...when i lived in Klagenfurt, south Austria, i was called the destoyer, coz i ruined so many relationships, i didnt notice it till someone pointed it out to me, that I only seem to atract women that are in relationships...I then moved on, and almost every one i have been involved with since has been Bi or Lesbian...dont get me wrong folks, i am not complaining If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

Excellent pictures!! These pics certainly make up for all the times we couldn't take pics or video at the concerts in Los Angeles. Just curious, but was Prince singing If I Was Your Girlfriend to Andy Allo in that pic where P is sitting on the piano and she's leaning over? I'm glad to read everyone had a wonderful time.

I took over 200 but by the time you take out the blurred ones, hands in the way, and Prince hiding behind the mike your not left with much....apart from loss of feeling in my legs and waking up twice in the night with cramp, that has to go down as one of the greatest Prince performances for me. Oh!...and swanny falling in the river was pretty cool 2

I was standing about a metre to the right of him and couldnt quite believe what i was seeing. How bloody insulting considering how many ppl had cameras!!! And really good ones too judging by the pics! "...because no-one gets there alone." - "...I like the floor. It's the only thing that seems real."

Andy it was great meeting you to. Had an amazing time there was a special energy in the air that night.
This is a perfect example of why you can't look at a setlist and judge a concert. It was slick funky and he powered his way through the set like a train at full steam
To everybody I met from the org thanks for making it a special one

I was right bang at the front. I may of wanted non-hits, but i knew that it should be hits and expected as such and it worked perfectly. Casual festival goers are now full Prince converts, just read Hop Farm's facebook wall! I thoroughly enjoyed it and my gang did too. I took two Prince newbies and made them fans. I heard many people around the festival saying how good it was and even comments like "best of all time"! I also caught one of the T-shirts Andy Allo threw out. Aside from Prince, Aloe Blacc was cool, but Larry Graham was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! He blew me away! COMPLETELY. A fantastic performer and one of the funkiest peeps i have ever heard. The crowd loved him! As for Prince, he remains the greatest entertainer/musician to ever do it. [Edited 7/4/11 17:38pm] This Post is produced, arranged, composed and performed by WetDream

This looks like Prince is wondering, "What the hell did Shelby do to her head?" I'm firmly planted in denial

You pics are absolutely stunning, those 3 had me laughing The first is just epic, with the shoe up, just very very great pic! Yet, I don't understand where the shoe ends an where his ankle starts... is the shoe made bigger than his actual foot?
The second...lol at Prince surrounded with 'First Aid' 'Danger' and 'Caution' signs... I agree in front of this man, you are more likely near fainting or going crazy.. you have to be warned lol
The third.. she looks sooooo bored!!! How is that possible? She's got Prince sitting on a piano just a feet in front of her!! Already used to it? It'd take me ages!! Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''
If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either.

Thanks to everybody for all the reviews and pics. Doffie, your photos are absolutely outstanding!
Shelby's looking excellent with the vajazzle, ...and I see even ol' LG got some props.
You guys are lucky to have a gig in your area...looks like he's never coming here again. Even with a so-so setlist Prince is still a superb musician and one of the finest entertainers ever.
Well done. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Damn man. Think u were standing exactly where I wanted to be!
Everyone has already said pretty much how I feel about the show. Fantastic. Amazing. One of his best. Get yr skinny ass out quicker next time....etc...etc....
Just to add...
1. Its the closest i'll surely ever get to Prince (gonna upload some pics v. soon) and I was absolutely loving seeing his facial expressions in real life. Like how in the first few minutes he walked over to Andy (FIT!!!!!) while Shelby was cutting loose and had a similar look on his face like when Eric used to do his solos. Would've been hilarious to suddenly hear "Shelby Shut The Fuck Up!!". He also pointed to some guy right at the front, then to both his ear-wraps and then smiled to him....that was great to see. Seeing little things like that up close just make it so much more.......much more......i dunno.....fucking awesome i guess.
2. Teenie Tempah Tantrum was a bucket of ass, we all agree on that (except his guitarist, who rocked). But he served his purpose on bringing a younger crowd to see Prince, who are surely by now indoctrinated by the funk. And if theyre not then they should have their ass beaten all the way to HMV and forced buy some Prince albums!
3. Was lovely meeting and just seeing some of u lot amongst the crowd, I didnt really mingle with anyone at the 02 but standing around for 10hrs straight like a battery chicken I had to take my mind off my shins pushing through my kneecaps somehow.
Andrew Keen, u fecking pisshead! U were funny, even though i was going to stick that symbol banner up yr ass at one point! But seriously, u made me laugh calling EVERYONE a "cunt" every few minutes for no apparant reason, also enjoyed singing with you and CHOPIN all through the SOUNDCHECK!! We sang as many Prince songs as we could to keep everyone entertained....so if anyone was thinking "Dammit, shut them tonedeaf twats up!", or purposely didnt join in when we kept attempting to get everyone to chat "Oooh Waayyy Oohh!", well....then...bollocks to you im afraid!
4. Prince seems to attempt to disheaerten and annoys us on a monthly basis. Cancelling shows, being a twat, cease and disist vids & pics, taking the utter piss with failed internet endevours, low par albums, getting his ass sued off every week....etc etc..... He tests us to the very limit. Proving WE ARE THE GREATEST FANS OF ANYTHING/ONE EVER!!!!! He doesnt know just how lucky he is......
But anyway, watching him from about 10metres away, even though it was part of a festival and there's a 1000 songs i wanted to hear, he reminded me of why I love the guy. "...because no-one gets there alone." - "...I like the floor. It's the only thing that seems real."
