So, glad everyone had a great time...as I did in NJ and Oakland... BTW the same Prince impersonator looks like the one at the New York concerts. I saw many people trying to impersonate Prince, both male and female, at the concerts I went to.... That is cool, but this guy is probably the only one that people actually thought was Prince. There is and will only be one Prince and this guy doesn't even come come close. I have been lucky to see him several times but only one time up close and personal when he was getting out of a limo for a concert when he performed in San Francisco. This was back in his bandana, trench coat and underwear days. So sexy then and now. Nothing like this imposter! |

That is the same one. You should have seen how crazy the imposter had the crowd going at MSG. Dude walked up through sections 200 to 300 came back around, giving hugs/kisses and handshakes, took pictures with Prince fans, and never revealed he was an imposter. He got his ass escorted out of the arena by security. LOL |

Was it just me, or did anyone else not really care a lot for Chaka?
I mean, her voice is still pretty, but it was way too loud. I don't know...I had never seen her live before Raleigh and Greensboro, and I do not think I care to see her live again. -you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude! |

I just wanted to ask everyone that may have happened to have also been at the Raleigh concert if you have any pictures of the people dancing on stage during "Play that Funky Music"? I was lucky enough to be able to dance with Shelby on stage. I was the girl with the purple leopard print hat and purple boa around her neck. We were not allowed to get on stage unless we put our cell phones in a basket. I would sure love any pictures anybody might have...since nobody believes that I danced on the Prince stage. Thanks. Well, I think her set could have been cool if the sound had been better. I honestly don't see how her house guy could let her sound like that. We were in Sec. 225 upstairs. I thought certain notes she sang would take the top of my head off. The band sounded like a blur. I believe GSO was the 1st time I have heard an opener louder than the headliner.
Being the opening act, they may not have had much of a sound check but damn. At this level of touring, whoever was mixing should know better.
As I said in another post, she deserved better. |

That's highly debatable
I daresay that he's backed himself into a bit of a corner now though, with respect to his fanbase and telling people to bring their families to the W2A shows.
Maybe next tour

Yeah, I couldn't figure out the deal with that at all. Let's say you are right and there wasn't a sound check (a. unlikely, b. Blackwell's Drum Tech was doing a soundcheck on his equipment between the two acts and those sounded fine), someone should have fixed the damn sound during the show.
It was ridiculous.
I don't know about the loud factor, cause well I didn't bring a db meter with me... honestly I think the levels were about the same.
My problem is twofold. 1. There appeared to be an echo on Chaka? Why? What is this the eigthies?
2. All of the sound was seriously muddled.
It was very amateurish and had me fearing for the main attraction, especially after complaints of the sound in Raleigh and Charlotte. |

Yes, girl. Pulled himself across that piano just like he was stalking you. . .you know what that was? That was the look from the Violet the Organ Grinder video---when he was in the sheets moving all around . . .oh man. . .I gotta stop. If you haven't seen that video, you must find it NOW.
He was so sexy last night. . .Purple Rain was nearly 13 minutes long. . .he toyed with us more than usual, made some very suggestive comments. . . I think all that is even sexier than humping the stage.
These photos came from the link above but are small examples of the aformentioned...

Prince performed for two hours (possibly more) and I sat down for ONE minute during the entire show (Columbia). When he did the Insatiable, Scandalous, and Adore encore, he. was. perfect.
He hasn't lost a thing. (Dabs with tissue) My best friend went along with me for company; I bought her ticket. About two or three songs into the concert she looked at me and said, "He really is good live". I smiled and Prince kept reeling her in. When he got to the aforementioned encore, Prince had a new fan, and we listened to his music the entire trip home. SCORE!!! She might even be lurking on the org by now come to think of it. |

If Prince wasn't happy about the imposters, security would've gotten them out - by the sounds of things they're hardly "low profile".
People describe the concert as an experience, and to me, possibly seeing and taking photos of Prince close up is part of the experience - it gives people a story to tell and something to remember for decades.
Does it really matter if it's not him? Is it essential for people to go to great lengths to "prove" to people that it's not him?
I think it's nice.
I'll bet, every so often, Prince slips out into the crowd too and doesn't get hassled quite as much as he normally would because people (other than first-timers) assume it's Marcus and don't bother looking properly
So I'm sure some of the sightings are legit
Just satisfying people's curiosity. Myself, when I heard of the 'imposter' it made me curious and I wanted to see how he looked like and if he would fool me if I saw him walking through the crowd. Personally I think he can pass from a distance because of his stature and if someone really didn't know his features. But as someone mentioned, he looks more like Morris Day. Couldn't fool me but other's may still think it was him.
No harm done.

My thoughts exactly!!! I about fainted when he did that...I was like "OMG! AHHHHHHH." I couldn't believe it, it was so much sexier in person than just seeing it on video. That little crawl on the floor to...WOW!!! Prince really worked it out during this show. He may have showed off that sexy chest of his at the Raleigh show, but this one he was just sooooo sexy acting. I loved it! And these pics are great, love the lighting, mine aren't this good! Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol |

Best show of the 3 NC shows!!!! Loved every part of it...except Chaka. Her set was SO LOUD! But I danced the entire time anyway cause I love her and her songs. Prince came out and was being such a flirt, I knew I was in for one hell of a show. That lookalike had folks screaming, though I could tell from far away it wasn't Prince. So Prince came out prancing around, looking sexy in black and gold. He has worked it out every night and he finally did one of my fave songs.. Musicology! I love that song, too funky. I was very, very happy with this setlist. The songs were great, his guitar playing was superb, he was SO SEXY, and he worked it out on the dance moves. I went wild when he said "I need me a big sexy woman. But she gotta know how to cook. I may be little but I love to eat. I hear they got some good collard greens here. Sweet potatoes, but I don't know eat meat." Me and this one lady behind me were screaming our butts off...especially when Prince asked if we had somewhere for him to stay. He did that little crawl on the floor like he used to do and I lost it! And he laid down on the piano when he said "when we be making love..." Hmmm, wow!!! So HOT and SEXY!!! Other than the 3 stupid drunk guys standing next to me that kept trying to hug all on me the entire night, the show was AWESOME!!! I want more...more...more!!
Yeah, I had to bust several bubbles where I was sitting about ole Marcus. I said...you guys...that is NOT Prince! Come on now...it is NOT him. And I was sitting a ways away...I know when i see Prince, and that is NOT him! LOL
I know! People were running and screaming, I'm like "ya'll that ain't Prince. No way would Prince be down there hugging all on people and posing for pics with fans." LOL Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol |
