Great show. I've seen him several times but tonight will rank up there as one of the best. The energy in there was amazing.

Like everybody's been saying, the show was terrific! I was hoping to hear "Shhh" and a full version of "When Doves Cry", but I had a great time regardless. The highlights for me were "Little Red Corvette" (hadn't heard that slow arrangement - loved it), "Cool" (too funky) and "Adore" (no explanation needed). Oh, "Musicology" was thumping too!

And yeah, the big dude prancing around the stage with the handkerchief was hilarious! lol

I enjoyed the concert. Prince was letting people get on stage an I was so close to getting on but one of the guards said that no eles could get on the stage. Even though I wanted 2 knock that guard out I had a good time and I bought me two shirts and a hat that say Prince. sexy lol biggrin biggrin

Prince and Chaka blew the roof off of the Greensboro Coliseum. I had a great time last night I am still excited this morning. Prince was so sexy and he was working that stage. Yeah the big guy that got on the stage was working it he was so funny. This was my 5th Prince concert and it was my favorite they were all good but this one just blew my mind. I bought the 3121 Tambourine $50 and the symbol necklace $15. It was just a beautiful experience and I really want to go to the next show on Monday.

This was the ninth time I've seen him live and easily the best experience! The Coliseum Authority needs to send him a bill for a new roof, cause the old one was blown completely off! I had floor seats, sitting directly behind John Blackwell, in front of the riser that Mr. Hayes was on. At first I was a little upset by the seating, as I thought it wasn't going to be a good vantage point, but instead I got to watch the concert from the band's point of view. The NPG was a finely tuned wrecking crew last night, killing us w/precision and turning on a dime at Prince's instruction. The coliseum was packed, and the energy was great throughout the night. I think Prince wanted to "bring it" a little bit because this is Shelby's home area, and he fulfilled! Here is the playlist:

D.M.S.R.

Pop Life

Musicology

Don't Stop Till You Get Enough

Cool

U Got the Look

Misty Blue (Sung by Shelby, P went to change)

Raspberry Beret

Take Me With U

She's Always In My Hair

Controversy

Housequake (just a snippet)

The Cross (instrumental, used as intro to>)

Let's Go Crazy

Delirious

1999

Little Red Corvette (verses sung as a slow jam, chorus regular)

Purple Rain

Piano/DJ set (Band break):

When Doves Cry

Nasty Girl

Darling Nikki

Sign O'The Times

Alphabet St.

The Most Beautiful Girl in the World

The Bird (band returns)

Jungle Love

Love Rollercoaster

Play That Funky Music (big fruity brotha was HILARIOUS!!! P was like "WTF!?!")

Which Way Is Up?

Kiss ("U don't have to watch...Real Housewives")

If I Was Your Girlfriend

Insatiable

Scandalous

Adore

I thought I heard "Prince and the Band," no?

HEY! I'm dying to know! Was that REALLY Prince walking the crowd with LITTLE TO NO SECURITY before the show? We were up high, and the crowd was acting like it was really him, but I have NEVER known him to be so open with strangers. Hugging, taking pictures (YES!), basically allowing open access to him. This went on for 10 minutes after CK was done and they were resetting for him.

What's the word?

Oh, and my bones are still vibrating from last night. Awesome show!

^ You did hear it, within Musicology. But not everyone knows or recognizes that unreleased song.

It was super funky.

And the dude walking around before the show, did look a lot like Prince from afar. But it definitley was not him.

Ok, I'm curious about this as well. I was in upper level too and the crowd was going nuts!!! But after the show was over, we sat in our seats for a while, until security made us leave actually. And as we were walking out......we look to our left and almost faint. "Prince" or someone who looks pretty damn identical came walking out, I guess the guy w/ him was supposed to be security. He had sunglasses on and a gorgeous suit. People started going nuts. My friend and I actually hugged him, he was short, I'm 5'7 and he stood about shoulder height to me. I don't even care if it wasn't him, it was close enough for me. I'd love to see if anyone else saw this.

Okay, last night was incredible!!!! Prince rocked the Greensboro Coliseum. He was having just as much fun as we were. When the lights went down and he took the stage, the energy took over my body and I thought I was going to come outta my skin!! He told Shelby J. "I like your hometown Shelby, from now on I'm from Greensboro too"

When he sang Insatiable, I completely lost my mind. At one point he was crawling all over the piano and I think I made a baby w/ him right there....lol Lord that man did things to me last night, I can't even describe it. I'm just gonna post a couple more pics

This is my favorite pic of last night

These arent the best quality, but I will cherish these photos for the rest of my life.

Amazing show! I wasn't even originally going to go (too poor!) but a friend of mine bought me a ticket (so sweet!) and while I was up HIGH (fourth row from the roof! Ha!) it was still awesome!

Some of the playlists people are showing here are a little "confusing" as Prince starts to sing a lot of songs, but will actually stop before anything happens. Doesn't he do this with Darling Nikki like all the time?! (I saw him around eleven or so years ago, and I could swear he did the same thing!) Does he just not like that song anymore, cause of his new "religious status"? Cause people were screaming for him to do it, and he passed! Jungle Love was another song they started to sing, but didn't do anything with, moving on to something else.

I'm sorta surprised he doesn't sing more of his recent stuff? It was ALL old school. Nothing post Sign of The Times, except for Insatiable and Scandalous (that I can remember.) The two women next to me, probably in their thirties, didn't even know he was still putting out new music! You would think he would mix it into his concerts to get people curious for his new stuff. But I realize most people always come out for the hits. I personally would like to hear some of his more funky (less hits) stuff. (I think I might be the only Prince fan in the world who thinks Little Red Corvette is completely overrated. LOL)

I give PROPS to the heavy-set gay guy sashaying the stage! He gave it all his worth, and it was an experience he'll never forget! And he was even given Prince's guitar at the end (but instead of keeping it, and throwing a fit later like I've read on these forums that some people have done) he handed it right back to the band when the show was over. One of my "family", I gotta give the man a high five!

Oh, and I can't believe I'm asking this, but who is the woman singer in Prince's band with the short hair sorta all up in a fauxhawk? I'm gay, but I think she could turn me straight! HA! I have NO idea why, but I just couldn't take my eyes off of her! She was beautiful.

Great concert! Sounds like one of his best from the posts on here, I'm so glad I had the chance to experience it! smile

Is Prince IN on this joke? Because this guy was all OVER the crowd on the floor, taking photos, hugging, etc. I was wondering, as Prince isn't usually this people friendly! But if he's not in on the joke, I'd think he'd be offended by someone taking the spotlight for a bit? Curious!

I really don't think it was this guy....I told my friends that I know Prince's mouth and lips and this guys lips were exactly like Prince's. He came out of the arena after 95% of the crowd had cleared out. I don't know, I'm gonna keep my dream and say I got to hug Prince last night....lol

Here's another clip of Marcus, who does not know Prince personally:

I would hope all those screaming fans realize it's an impersonator and are just playing along, because IMO he doesn't look anything like Prince.

This was my first Prince concert... and I have to echo what everyone else has said... it was absolutely f*ing incredible... I was in the upper level, but had a great view of the stage (seriously wish I had a camera phone that worked!)... the place was rockin' and it was just awesome. Even my boyfriend, who is not necessarily a fan, thought it was a great show, and said it was abundantly clear that Prince still loves what he does. I definitely could have stayed there all night listening to him play.

(And I was curious if that was really him walking around before the show... glad to hear that I was right that it was an impersonator)
