I am on the floor in Section B, Row B. Is that going to be too close? Looks like a good angle but wondering if it is too close? Thanks.

Of course that's a great seat. How can you stress out over 2nd row center?!

I had a similar seat for the first Izod show (they dropped at face value day of show). Yes some aspects of the show will be partially obstructed but who cares? There will ALWAYS be something going on about 10 feet in front of you, and much of the time it will be PRINCE.

I can't believe people really care about seeing the whole "symbol" stage show. This show isn't about the staging - which frankly is pretty outdated, underwhelming, and weak. It's about seeing Prince and the perfomers. You really aren't missing much on the floor unless you just can't live without seeing some 1980s style sequencing lights on the stage.

The light show is for people with shitty seats, to give them something to look at. It's not for people who have Prince TEN FEET in front of them.

You've got great seats. If you want to trade some 8th row lower level/loge seats with me where you'll get a "better view" of the fabulous stage, let me know, I'll be happy to trade. Section 60, row H.

To each his own, ya know...

Your seats sound great, but I do like to see what's going on all over the stage.

I had 2nd row on the floor at the 2nd IZOD show. I liked that seat. nod

On the 7th, I'm taking a friend who's never been to a Prince concert before, so I chose seats where she'd be able to see more, instead of waiting for Prince to come on our side.

If there is one more show, I want to go alone. I probably will choose really close seats because I've seen the show multiple times, and I won't have to worry about anyone else's view.

I've been to all 5 shows in NY this run, and I'll be going to the show on feb 7. All excellent seats, and none over face value ($179 or $200). 10th row dead center at the piano and 2nd row right on the side floor at Izod, and choice loge seats for all the MSG shows.

Next stupid comment please.

It's not about what people can afford, it's about people trying to convince someone with a SECOND ROW seat that their seat isn't as good as some garbage in the upper deck. It's simply not true. Being far away from the stage sucks, and the lame stage show isn't much of a consolation prize if you ask me. Having a superstar of Prince's magnitude 10 feet (or less!) away from you for much of the show is simply priceless. And the fact that he isn't ALWAYS right in front of you takes nothing away from it. There's always someone there - a dancer, a musician - always something cool to look at, and always so close you can almost touch them. Priceless. You can look into their freakin' eyes...you can feel the emotion. You simply can't connect with the performers - prince included- from poor seats.

But it's none of my business really...if you think you are better off sitting 75 yards away where prince looks like an ant, and watching "close ups" on his 1993 quality LED screens, knock yourself out. It's a free country.

I actually want to do VIP this time around...one of the tables. A friend and I think it would be way cool to be at the tables, surrounded by celebrities. We'd dress up in costumes, party etc.

But the VIPs are sold out, so unless they release some more it probably ain't gonna happen. Which is for the best as $750 is a ton of money!

um. why are you so angry? I'm asking about the seats b/c there is a huge sentiment on this board against sitting too close. i don't know what the stage/setting is like. what does the issue of whether i can see from my seats have to do with how many times you are going to concerts or whether prince walked by you?

not angry at all if people can afford paying a certain amount 2 be closer 2 stage by all means do that but what i do take offense 2 is saying that if u sit higher up they are shitty seats. those that make comments like that have no idea that u can see the whole stage at one shot plus their are screens that show close ups of the band and things all at once. the way the stage is constructed, there is a huge circle around the stage that not one audience member is able 2 touch his hand if they even wanted 2 yet some are making it seem that being that close means that ur able 2 touch the artists. in the end it's about the music and several memorable movements that a artist will do on stage. prince is one of those rare artists that the lighting, music, performance all goes into a presentation.

My two cents ...

For that particular stage the best view IMO is from the first few rows of the lower level, preferably right next to the piano.

I was front row Sec 121 for 12/17 and I was glad that I wasn't on the floor because 95% of the floor seats were either farther away from the stage than mine, or they were so low that when he walked to different areas of the stage - and that's a BIG stage - you couldn't see him.

Funny you said that..This will be my thrid concert...The First one I had sort of the piano side (103) and the second was 131 or 132 (I forget). I much preferred the 103......

However, for the 12/29 show I noticed he lingered on the opposite moreso than the piano...

Therefore for this 2/7 I thought to get the opposite piano side..the side I thought he would linger....so wound up getting 125 and 91 Sections...However after the 18th Jan...he really favored that piano side...So basically you never know what you are going to get...

As far as me...my perfect floor seat would be right next to the stage in the first few rows or on the side/loge rows near either side of stage..(middle)..

That is in a perfect world if ticketmaster let me choose wherever I wanted..

Myself..even up to today I was wavrering which will be better 125/91 because the poster is right..you are closer if you are in the 'middle' stage even though 91 is techincally closer to the stage...

ALl in all who can argue with a seat where you see the performer sweat...Be honest, if any of us had a choice and were handed a loge or floor seat right next to stage versus say sec 224 or 324 at the same cost...we would all take the closest I believe...unless you have seen him multiple times....and want a different angle...

As someone said who wants to look at ants...lol...that cracked me up!

I did not mind the light show...however dated it supposedly was..I liked it..I did not like the 'screen' viewable from Sec 131 side (straight). You could see the large bulbs and lines at times and the quality was crappy. My pictures prove that for the most part. Sometimes it was clear other times it was not...

I wonder if the screens are that way on purpose so people do not video. Someone with a video camera could get a great video and sell it for profit if those were high quality screens. I bet they are that way on purpose.

Not sure but I dont remember it being that way on the side...but maybe b/c there were 3 screens...so I was not distracted by it and I seemed closer so I did not depend on the sreen as much...

I think they cannot do much about it.I mean the Canadian Flag was up top so obviously the Sports Arena Decor is still there...so that screen doubles as the scoreboard... That and the bright white light in I swear just our row did it for me...

timeout Geez people, the fact of the matter is, you will all be at the same show. If a seat further from the stage works for you, and you have no problem with it because you will be able to see the entire stage, including the lights, and will take advantage of the jumbo screens that will allow you to see the show anyway, then what's the problem?

If you want to sit closer to the stage to feel more of a connection to the artist and his performance, and you're comfortable with not being able to see who arises from the inner part of the stage, before everyone else does, then that's fine too. Different strokes for different folks.

Isn't the reason you purchased a ticket for this concert, regardless of the ticket price you paid, is to enjoy the show and later share that experience with others or either keep that experience to yourself for good memories? Why turn it into a "tease My ticket is better than yours" situation?

Just have fun at the show, because it looks like this may the last of the W2A concert series in NYC, since there hasn't been any further announcements of added shows here after 2/7, unless the Purple One decides "It Ain't Ova in NYC", and we don't know when the Purple One will come back this way again.

Thanks, and yes I'm aware that if you go through livenation it takes you straight to Ticketmaster.

I bought my ticket last week, and yes since then there's been tix available in sections 120, 121 and 124, 67, 69 and 70. They're not sold out yet, and maybe the OP of the thread should change the thread title. It also depends on how many tix you're purchasing that you'll see what sections are available. As of now, the floor seats appears to be sold out.

hehehe did u know that the whole "it ain't over" chant begain in NYC at the aftershow at the world courtesy of George clinton?

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

No I did not, so do I fail the class of Prince 101 for not knowing that or is that a requirement for being a "diehard" fan?lol

I am on the floor in Section B, Row B. Is that going to be too close? Looks like a good angle but wondering if it is too close? Thanks.

I pulled that same section row a... but let it go because i couldn't go to the show. I sat on the other side by the piano in the same spot row b I am super short and I could see him well. When I sat behind the stage front row, that sucked because he didn't come there that much. It is true you don't get the full effect of the show but you do see prince really close... so it depends what you like. I like both
