has anyone infos about the sound in the milanvenue ? better to buy seating or standing tix?
The sound in the Assago Forum (the Milan venue) is average at best... but since he has not played Milan for eight years, it'll do
as to the standing vs. seating thing, I don't think there is a distinct advantage of either choice based on the venue, it just depends on personal preferences. Bear in mind the place is not huge hence you won't be too far off either way. I got standing tickets.
oh and for those who do not live in Milan: arrange your journey (it is a real journey!!) to the Forum with plenty of buffer in terms of time, the place is out of town and not very well connected... they are building an underground line extension to get there quickly from the city centre and I'm sure it will be up and running by 2065 at the latest
for now though, you'll need to catch bus n. 320 to get there and it does not pass very often. You'll find the bus stop at the southern end of the underground line n. 2 ("green" line, Famagosta is the name of the stop).
Hope this helps...
or u can stay at the hotel next door to the forum it runs a shuttle to the famagosta metro stop, straight in2 the city/airport connections. [Edited 10/22/10 4:47am] |

big thanx for the info to both of you !!
meanwhile we got standing tix too ,because I couldnot estimate the distance to the stage on the plan of ticketone.
but i got another question 4 U:as an aftershow is at least possible ,how long is public transport serving in the night ? and maybe a hotelroom in the old centre is therefore better? |

if i was planning on an aftershow i'd stay central city & grab a taxi. i can't imagine the metro runs all night |

I suggest general admission/standing tickets: I don't think that the venue will be sold out, so that you may reach a good position near the stage.
As regards sound quality: it depends, everytime the acoustic is different depending on the artist's equipment, the position in the venue, the volume, etc etc...
I really wish you a nice concert...I was in Nice last July and I've really appreciated Prince...hoping he can repeat that experience. |

Judging from all I have read and seen about these 3 (4) recent shows up north, it seems that Prince's performance is even better than during the summer concerts!!! I can't be more excited about the fact that I am going to see Prince in Milan soon!!! From the north to the south - Prince, we are so ready for u!!!! |

More bad Karma.
Its always a speculation and who knows whats really happening back there
But this smells very much like a Candy Dulpher from 21 nights, maneuver.
Its a real shame as iam actually a real fan and she was one of the reasos I really wanted to catch this tour. The band is getting leaner and leaner. No Horns, No harmonica and now no Sheila
I really try not to be one of those negative guys but man ...
There is a smell of bad karma everywhere that guy steps

She was actually already in London after having a contract for the 21 nights but was "sent" back home as Prince felt he actually didnt feel like having her around. I always thought she was probably not very welcome by an all afro-american horn section he held back then.
She had a few angry remarks but emidiately fixed her remarks and explained it was allsettled.
Nobody want to shut the door with this guy. Despite being a prick ... |

Since someone asked, the Milan metro (underground, subway for our yankee friends ) shuts down at around half past midnight on weekdays. I expect there will be buses waiting outside the Forum after the gig to take you straight to the metro station so it shouldn't be a problem to get back into town for an aftershow or just to head to your place of stay, but don't hang around the Forum toooooo long!

Hi there
A question to all the kind and generous Milanese people here
I am arriving Milan from Rome (Yes I wil try to make both concerts) in Bergamo airport only at around 1700. What are the chances I make it in time for the concert with public transportaion. I gather it takes an hour just to get to the center of the city and thats once on a bus. Form the city I understand its a long and tricky road to the form as well. Would it be wiser to Just rent a car for 24h only to help me make it to the forum and from there to the afterparty (hopefully ? )
I would appreciate your experienced recommendations
Thanks

mmmhhh...quite a long trip...
anyway, landing in Bergamo airport at 17.00 means to reach Milan Central Railways Station in about 1,5 hour (considering the traffic jams on the highway). From Central Station you may take the subway (green line, or line n°2) to exit Milan arriving in "Famagosta" parking (I think about 40 minutes). Finally from here you may take a shuttle bus until the Forum of Assago (concert venue). If your flight is on time you have enough time to see the concert since the beginning. For the aftershow you can take the same public transports to reach Milan and by subway, or bus, or taxi you may go to the aftershow venue. ciao! |

Cheers mate . Thanks for the help and tips. At the meantime I figured its not going to be much more costy to just rent a car for that day.withthe rates of public transportation on allthose legs. So I think I will take the car rental alternative after all. Hope Milan traffic is not impossilbe.
What it means more is that there is another car to the pool of orgers rushing to the afterparty (If it happens, and of course it will !!)
I would love to give a hitch to whoever needs it ...
See yall there. Right below the stage.
