New UK residency??

Hey everyone - I work in the entertainment industry and was told several weeks ago that Prince was in talks about another UK residency. I expected it to be announced by now but there's no more info on it as yet. I know the venue but I'm not going to highlight it here as Google Alerts has not shown up any news on this for 3 weeks now and I'd rather not be the first the promoters look at. It's quite different from The O2 residency - 10 nights are planned in a 2500 seated venue. Don't know the dates though. Oh, and it's not in London...

Maybe there are issues with it hence the delay in an announcement but I promise you that it's good info. Remember The O2 residency when it suddenly came out of the blue?? Well, get ready for possibly something similar. I'll post updates when I get it. I'm a huge Prince fan so would not post this info unless I knew it be reliable. Yeah, I wanna hear 'Laydown' live too...

I'm not an expert considering the UK Indoor Arena's.

But it sounds promising, maybe a venue like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/w...ton_Centre

Have a look at 'The W2A: Euro Tour Song Survey' http://prince.org/msg/12/362417

nah, if it aint in london, it wont be happening. with prince, its all about the image. 10 nights at the brighton centre screams washed up star... its more simply red or spandau ballet's style!

There getting silly now.

Here it is : It's in EDINBURGH "PRINCE at the CASTLE" It will be a CAPITAL residency of ROYAL stature and the cost is TBA but wear PEACH and BLACK and be sure to reap the 2010 discounts.

Claimed to be the "LAST TIME TO HEAR ALL THE HITS" but I'm sure I've heard that before somewhere but regardless the GOLD CIRCLE crowd will be going CRAZY!!!!!

I have divulged to much information at present so I'm not sure my promoters will be happy,so brace yourselves UK,OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH FUNKY SCOTLAND!!!!!!!

EDINBURGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG,1993 was the last time the PURPLE PIXIE uttered that word,so BRACE,BRACE,BRACE,it's gonna get FUNKY YA'LL

OOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH FUNKY SCOTLAND

To answer the previous dig...it's my first post under this user name as my other one that I've had for years can be traced back to me and I don't want the attention at work. This is all true, folks, and as I said I'll update with any new details. If the gigs get confirmed you'll likely hear it here first.

And nobody has come up with the proposed venue location yet...

Don't get too excited. First of all, the residency isn't even confirmed and if it does happen, the op is saying that none of the suggestions so far are the right one. So, not The Brighton Centre.

RIP sad

This would be great, but it wont happen at the castle. By the time the gigs come around it'll be too cold for the wee shite to play outdoors.

Plus, Edinburgh castle security are f**king nazis.

And it's too windy up there.

And it'll probably rain.

And Edinburgh '93 was shit.

And..............................none of this would stop me attending. lol

Wake me up after the hits.

I'd love this to be true - a small seated venue. But the maths doesn't work for me - I reckon Prince expects at least £500,000 a night for his fee. So 2,500 tickets wouldn't generate enough cash; even ignoring all the other costs, that's already £200 per ticket!

Anywhere but Scotland PLEASE. Its too cold and too far away. London Cardiff Manchester or Liverpool would be the most sensible option plus I cant see the good people of Scotland paying the sort of prices Prince will charge. But here is a wild and crazy idea - What about doing a proper tour ???

if it was edinburgh castle, which it won't be, it would be great as i know one of the 3 guys in charge of security (they do rota's). i also know a number of people involved in the castle, and from memory it is about 2500 capacity, i thought it was loads more. apparently it's not that good a venue for live gigs though. i always thought it would have been cool if prince played the castle for new year on 31st december 1999, but instead they played the song at the street party, it must have been the most played song that day

the o2 residency didn't come out of the blue btw, it had been mentioned for a while at vegas long before it was announced officially

Total bollocks. He won't do a residency in a non-London venue - and this isn't happening anyway.
