Anywhere but Scotland PLEASE. Its too cold and too far away. London Cardiff Manchester or Liverpool would be the most sensible option plus I cant see the good people of Scotland paying the sort of prices Prince will charge. But here is a wild and crazy idea - What about doing a proper tour ???

[Edited 9/3/10 8:11am]

Buy a FOOKING jumper then!!!!!!Besides the ever popular tourist "see u jimmy" wigs are very cosy and warm as for far away,IT IS,only if you live far away!!!!!There is no sensible in the world of Purple...

If you had followed my previous thread during the recent EURO concerts about the SECRET coded messages within said concert divulging the whereabouts for VIP access to aftershows you will understand that my SOURCES are GOLDEN and U should be prepared to be ROCKED!!!!!!(oh,edinburgh rock, have I said too much)

I knew it would come true... ( prince to play blackpool thread from ages ago.) I can't wait to see him in the Tower ballroom...aftershows in the round at the Tower Circus with special water effects as the floor drops into the pool below. Brilliant.

Hey everyone - I work in the entertainment industry and was told several weeks ago that Prince was in talks about another UK residency. I expected it to be announced by now but there's no more info on it as yet. I know the venue but I'm not going to highlight it here as Google Alerts has not shown up any news on this for 3 weeks now and I'd rather not be the first the promoters look at. It's quite different from The O2 residency - 10 nights are planned in a 2500 seated venue. Don't know the dates though. Oh, and it's not in London...

Maybe there are issues with it hence the delay in an announcement but I promise you that it's good info. Remember The O2 residency when it suddenly came out of the blue?? Well, get ready for possibly something similar. I'll post updates when I get it. I'm a huge Prince fan so would not post this info unless I knew it be reliable. Yeah, I wanna hear 'Laydown' live too...

Sssshhhhh - it is at the Buckingham Palace - shhhhhsssshhhh - "The Queen invites a real Prince" - 10 garden parties in a row....

Confidential, hush hush...

if that was actually true, i'd get in no problem

no shit, but the first time i went to london i stayed at buckingham palace for a week. on the way back there after a night out i'd get a taxi and they'd ask where to guv, and i'd say buckingham palace, and they'd ask if i'm doing a bit of late nite sightseeing, and i'd tell them no i was staying there and they didn't believe it, so when i got out the taxi they would wait until i got past the security and the gates and waved to them. i gotta say, it's nowhere near as nice inside as you would think, not where i was staying, it was like it hadn't been decorated since the queens coronoation, i mean literally 50s decor

"I cant see the good people of Scotland paying the kind of prices Prince will charge!"

I could not belive my eyes when reading the above - it is offensive on so many bloody levels........ how many "good people" of Scotland took up residence in London in 2007 for the six weeks of bliss........... very many indeed! Scots are not tight and nor are the majority of them poor......... perhaps you should address your prejudices, apologise and perhaps get an education KEVOS.

Rant ends

and yes I am Scottish.

i'm the only scottish person i know that had tix to all the shows and aftershows. it cost me about £900 in train tickets alone. most others just went once or twice at most

hopefully next time it won't be so many shows and they aren't spaced out so i don't have to travel up and down. if it's edinburgh then he can play when he wants as far as i'm concerned, i'll be there every night, and if it's the castle i'll get in free too. i know a few people in the right places when it comes to the castle. ironically i've never been inside it though, but i see it most days

Still no more news on this. As promised, I will update this thread if I hear more news. The info came from director level so it's not easy to get regular updates. The gigs are not planned for Scotland, by the way. Think of a medium concert venue halfway between London and Scotland. I don't mean to tease with the exact venue but I don't want this forum flagged as a source of info. I guarantee the venue would get loads of calls/e-mails from Prince fans if I revealed it and the Box Office staff probably wouldn't know anyway. You all know as much as I do so let's hope something happens soon....

dayzofwyld - this is no wind up so leave your childish comments for another thread, please. I'm certainly going to think twice before posting inside info again. Maybe it won't happen but all I'm doing is saying what I have been told from 2 separate sources within the music business. That's it.

Oh come on...Prince plays somewhere other than London...get away!

I've heard more than just rumours but unless you give a source your words mean nothing...I am not prepared to give any source and not prepared to start rumours as I know how fragile plans can be in the Prince world!

Actually, dayzofwyld, what a great point you attempted to make. What I should do is wait until the gigs are publicly announced then say that I knew this 3 months before and reveal my sources so everyone knows them to have been reliable sources. Also, you need to rethink your argument as you say you won't believe the info I've provided but would believe it if I added a source?? So if I added in a name and job title of somebody high up in the music business that you had never heard of you would believe it? Wow!! If I said I was told by somebody at Paisley Park (I wasn't) would you believe me then?? Either you accept what I am telling you or not. And, don't you understand that I am not passing on a rumour - this is factual information from inside the music industry?? It's being talked about now. It may happen or it may not - that's it. And, I've been a Prince fan for 22 years, seen him over 50 times and have every bootleg cd/dvd you can think of so I'm not messing any fellow Prince fans with fake info.

Right...I'm off to listen to the Le New Morning 2010 aftershow to calm myself down!!

Hey dayzofwyld - I was making a point in reply to your flippant and negative comments so am not angry in any way. My final line about calming down was an obvious joke. I'd also say that you saying 'I know stuff about next year but won't tell anyone' is ridiculous and my information is 'concrete' but not yet in the public domain (or did you miss that point too??). And you seem to have a problem with Prince playing outside of London, for some reason? He has done this before, you know.

Enjoy your selfish cynicism and do calm down..it really isn't worth it!

To everyone else....the only update I have is that if this does happen the gigs are unlikely to go on sale before November. I won't post again until I have more info.

Prince is about money, he will want maximum capacity and maximum ticket prices...he ain't gonna play 2500 venues.
