We should do that . He could play in the Zen Club in Port Of Spain. I was there for a reggae concert. It's a 3 hour drive, but a nice venue.

Depending on how you fly there. 10 hours flight from Frankfurt to Tobago and another 20 or 25 minutes flight to Trinidad. Or via London directly to Trinidad.

Add a cheap flight from there to your favorite hub and of you go?

We did the Geneva -> Vienna train on the 13th. 1000 KM or so. 45 minutes delay on arrival but still on time for us to arrive before the doors open.

I probably will take a cheap train to Frankfurt, but it's gonna take me forever then. Even if I take the plane it takes me 26 hours to go to his place .

No I just got the impression that you arrived very shortly before the doors opened. But I did too . And still was in the 5th row right in front of his mike . OMG ist was hot there .

I was not in the wavebreaker area and also experienced the temperature. The Stadthalle could get a slightly better airconditioning; or are they just stimulating the sale of drinks?

(they would not even sell me a 0.5L bottle without cap, they only would give me a large cup for the fluid... (in Berlin I was allowed to take in a small bottle and in Werchter it was OK sans cap))

Sie recherchieren halt alle nicht mehr, dazu sind´s zu faul, die Herren, sondern kritzeln nur irgendeinen Schmus hin, und das besonders im Standard mit seiner pseudointellektuellen Bobo-Ausrichtung, da ist die Presse inzwischen viel besser.

Geschmäcker sind verschieden und unsere auch mal wieder. Ich habe das auch zu lange und eintönig gefunden und ich kenne Prince's Livekonzerte und habe PR schon X Mal live gesehen. . Aber andererseits war meiner Meinung nach insgesamt Purple Rain eine Superwahl als Opener und sobald das Intro mal vorbei war hat es mir sehr gut gefallen .

Also wir im Golden Circle haben es gesungen. Nur leider hat Freddie Yonnet nicht mit der Sekund begonnen, als er versucht hat die Melodie zu spielen, sondern bei der Oktave, was eigentlich erst beim zweiten "ooh" sein sollte. Das hat viele Leute irritiert und deshalb konnten sie nicht gescheit mitsingen...

Hey wir in der erstn Reihe der normalen Stehplatztickets hams auch gesungen, waren aber damit leider ziemlich allein. Von vorne im Wavebreaker-Bereich hat man auch nicht viel nach hinten gehört, eh klar. Obwohl die Show nachher sehr ausuferte und auch das Publikum bis zum totschreien und begeisterten Beifalls-Stürmen mitriss, waren manche Leut richtig zaaach. Hätte ich mir so nicht erwartet.. ich hätte gedacht alle machen eine funky dance und wir sind alle ne große funky family. Naja, Wien...

liegt vielleicht auch daran, dass Prince so lange nicht in Wien war..

@Serious, ja da sind wir durchaus verschiedener Meinung. Genau wie bei miserablem Journalismus von Journalisten die zu faul sind zu recherchieren und dann ihre Berichte löschen - pling oe.24!, - und überdies es nicht schaffen, die Akkorde von Purple Rain zu erkennen (für manche Journalisten war das noch immer ein seperates Intro die ersten 7 Minuten lol! Warum lässt man eigentlich Leute schreiben, die von Musik keine Ahnung haben??); bei Klavier spielen wann man will mit oder ohne Publikum (und ob das jetzt extrem unfair ggü. Fans deines Levels ist - hab das Gefühl ich muss mich vor dir verneigen statt vor Prince?) und der Diskussion darüber was funky style bzgl. Karten-Kategorien vs. früh bei Konzerten sein ist (die vorne-ists-teurer Methode ist nun mal aus den USA importiert und tut den Künstlern nicht gut).

Find halt an Prince kann man viel kritisieren (website oder was auch immer), aber bzgl. der jetzigen Zeit in Wien eigentlich nichts. Macht ja nix, ich mag dich trotzdem, Serious!

- den Kritiker, der kritisieren "muss", aber nicht! Liegt vielleicht daran, dass ich keinen Respekt vor Schreiberlingen habe, seit ich mal Presseaussendungen gemacht hab. Und es wird soo viel dermaßen falsch konstruiert und gelogen, das geht auf keine Kuhhaut. Journalisten sind so leicht persönlich gekränkt, wenn sich ein Künstler verweigert (Kritiker auch wenn man sie kritisiert, lol), eigentlich müsste man die armen Schweine trösten, da sie in Online-Zeiten ihre zunehmende Irrelevanz zu spüren bekommen.

It was a real pleasure from Purple Rain to Peach to watch and listen to Prince and his grand band. He was in such a good shape and mood - lovely !

My highlights were:

Mountains/Shake your body-giving me creeps and some energy back

Dreamer - Hendrix hot a bissl owagschaut

and the funky stuff !

Not to forget Sheila E. !!

The only mini-critique: the sound was ok but could have been better....

I was so filled - and to be true also a bit exhausted - I didn't bother too much about the "cancelled" aftershow in Porgy&Bess.

It was concert number 9 for me and def in my top 3 !

PS: finde es absolut verständlich, dass er nach so einer langen,heißen Show sich nur mehr im Imperial ans Klavier gesetzt hat.......klar wäre ich gern dabeigewesen, wer nicht ?

It was my first Prince Concert, but def in my top 3 of all concerts, if´ve seen (f.e. AC/DC, Black Sabbath, QUotsa, Depeche Mode, Faith no more, Bob Dylan, Gossip, David Bowie....).

I was very exhausted after dancing to the whole of Dance Disco Heat , but the dancin of us all went on... .
