GustavoRibas said: Prince, please consider releasing a DVD...
If he's getting the highest fee ever paid to a performer at the Montreaux Jazz Festival, I'd bet that the Montreaux people control the DVD rights. At least, if I was in their shoes, that's the way I'd negotiate it. I'd tell Prince, "You want to release a DVD of shows from OUR festival? No problem. But you have to take less money from us, because you're going to make money off our festival through your DVD sales." Well, Prince surely didn't take a cut in pay, so I'd wager that he has no control over any festival-related streams of income. If I'm right, then I'm kind of disappointed, because that would mean that Prince negotiated the deal with no thought towards members of Lotusflow3r.com. This is all speculation, though.

No tickets for sale in the stores, the vendor said they were for sale earlier, but that the computer now only gives a message that it's cancelled. I guess we'll have to wait until it's all official. But if I could get there: it would certainly be a dream come true

Pretty cool that fans paid $77 to join a website ….and they still get news through Dr. Funkenberry.
3 concerts in one night …. Why not just do one great concert (and try doing a soundcheck before the show this time) …I guess you can sell 3x as many tickets for one nights work, and it is all about the $$$ Bragging about how much you are going to get paid …. Perfect timing !

I don't think they will charge you for the 3 concerts, it's a festival: most of the time you pay for one day, or like montreux, for a series of concerts. But if you're right than we have to pay for a concert in the auditorium, another one in the miles davis hall, and for an aftershow someplace else If he dares charging more than 60€ per concert I will be so Prince if you are planning to charge every show like in LA and you are reading this: FANS NEED SOME KIND OF COMBI-TICKET, which is cheaper than 3 seperate tickets.

I'll contribute and give my money for decent music, not to support his lifestyle. The line must be drawn!!! Especially in this economy. Well said. How fucking arrogant to boast about how much you're getting paid for your "art" when the rest of the world is in a recession. Prince really can be a dick sometimes. There's a valid reason why Steve Fargnoli never let Prince talk ! I get the feeling it's to show that writing Slave on his face and leaving Warners etc, has worked and now he gets paid (what he considers to be) the fair amount. It's a shame that... Bragging about your wealth is such low class... Prince should leave that to the rap boys... We ain't from Hollywood, so you know it's all good

This is great news from my perspective. Dublin got cancelled last year now in switzerland. Gonna have to be there. Hate how the financial side is coming out again, starting to really piss me off about prince. Anyone knows when tickets are available?

i think he'll just put the clips of the concerts up on his lotus flower site for members? seriously though: he won't. i'm a member and it pains me to have to admit it, but he just won't. that whole site was pretty much dead in the water march 30. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I 'spoke' to some executive from the festival via facebook:
Yan Luong Vandaag om 19:07 Hi, We're working on it... Donna Summer changed her tour dates, so we had to reshuffle the whole thing... More info: http://newsletter.montreu...pr_en.html Vincent Brouwers Vandaag om 19:36 Hi Thanks for the info. Dr. Funkenberry, a pretty good source in LA, sent that Prince will play 3 shows in Montreux. That's why I was curious when the announce will be because I'm a very big fan. I'm afraid that all fans on prince's fansite already know (it's a big thread in there), so that ruins the 'official announcement' a bit http://www.drfunkenberry....ple-rumor/ Yan Luong Vandaag om 19:42

Thanx for all the info but.... It is still unclear to me... where is the Montreux Jazz Festival located.??...Where can I buy tickets??....and how much do they cost??...appreciate the info...could this be the continuation of Prince starting the engine for a coming tour?...testing the waters..so speak?...but he already has millions of fans who would sell out any venue...if given even a reasonable amount of notification...say more than 48 hours...I think he is getting set for a tour....but who am I...I could be wrong.... ....but i hope not Was it good 4 U?
Was I what U wanted me 2 B? If it's not alright...it will B Because...even when I lose...I win

I would like to make a suggestion that those who want to attend start saving some money to buy tickets. I would hate to see endless threads about the tickets being so expensive, and Prince doesn't know there is a recession, and blah, blah, blah. Save some cash, folk. The price is unclear, I have asked the executive but he still has to answer. The location is Montreux, Switzerland. Near the lake of Geneva (where deep purple wrote smoke on the water). This could be the the start-up for a tour (and this is only based on the fact that he did the same thing in the great summer of 2007)
