when completed in late 2008 it will boast a cinema plus a luxury 5 star hotel and a 2000 seater arena (which would b ideal 4 the afterhows) beside the 14,000 seater main arena.
the accoustics r the best n the world here at the point and when U compare it 2 the 02 n london it will rival it if not go further in terms of Xcelence.
im sure MCD promotions could persuade prince 2 do a "30 nites with prince @ the point" tour.
the ONLY crazy joint N the world where prince will play n 2009.

Hi guys...Heard that too but me thinks someones getting thier wires crossed. This would be absolutely amazing if it was true but there's no mention anywhere that this will happen.
There are reports that Princess Ann is going to be at an Irish Rugby game in Croke Park soon enough, but this is the only reference...

the stadium looks a bit big though, the o2 was perfect size and it had a roof unlike croke park

^^^ all that articles says is that there are rumours online it doesnt add anything to the story the concert on the 15/06 which is tbc at the moment could be anyone there is no evidence apart from the radio guy saying so i wouldnt get my hopes up before anything more reliable is released

but if he is i think june soumds like a perfect time of year to visit my irish cousins

Prince will play a gig at Dublin's Croke Park in June, say reports.

The 'Purple Rain' singer is reportedly being lined up to fill the final slot in a series of summer concerts at the Irish stadium.

Celine Dion, Westlife and Neil Diamond have already confirmed shows at the venue for later this year.

The venue's website currently has 'concert tbc' printed in its event diary on June 15. This date is expected be filled by the veteran US rocker.

Prince played 23 gigs at London's O2 arena last year to promote his Planet Earth album.

this could tie in with the glastonbury rumors

June would be perfect! Yeah I know Croke Park is big - saw the Police there last Oct, but its not like he didnt do outdoor before here - RDS, Parc Ui Chaoimh.... I dont care what venue it is to be honest, I just want to see him again.

I agree with you Wolfie, he loves Ireland and his fans - no doubt!!!

I would love if this was true but in the 20 years I have followed Prince I have never read a rumour about a particular concert that was announced by Prince that turned out to be true.I actually think if the rumour gets out there Prince does not go forward with it ( crazy I know).

Not the first time we have been in this situation - Here are some examples Parade tour was scheduled to play 5 nights at the point in August 2006, SOTT same 5 nights in 2007, Lovesexy tour was 99% confirmed for June 30/31 1988 in RDS Dublin, I know someone who swears he had the job of destroying the already printed tickets, then it emerged the Nude tour would open in Dublin for 5 nights at the point in May 1990 but if did play to 80000 people in Cork that year.

The two times he was not expected he showed up for the live exp and 1nite alone tour. I hope it happens, he has tons of fans in Ireland and more top 10 records in Ireland (28 I kid you not) than elsewhere in the world....but talk is cheap...

Prince could be joining the lineup of summer concerts scheduled in Dublin's Croke Park stadium, according to reports.

The venue has a tantalising 'concert tbc' on its events diary in June, and rumours have surfaced online today that it could be a visit from Prince on June 15.

I gotta stop this Prince watch... if he comes to my town, I'll hear about it soon enough.
