jeff Just got back. There was a line, but there was a show that was just starting (Sage Francis). Hard to tell if anyone was there to claim their spot in line for Prince.

Honestly, 1st Ave holds 1200 people in the main room. I CANNOT imagine showing up at noon on saturday and seeing over 1000 people winding around the block for tickets. I could be wrong, but I think people are too lazy to put up with that shit and that it'll be too hot outside. Honestly, if I get there at 1PM and there are 1000 people in line--I guess it was not meant to be. 1 ticket per person and non transferrable is going to keep that line down methinks. One of the local news stations here in Minneapolis. kstp channel 5, had a news bit on the Prince being at First Ave. on Saturday night, calling it a 3rd concert. I guarantee that the line will be long on both sides of first ave. People think Prince and First ave and Puple Rain so they might not normally go to a Prince concert but they see that he's going to be at First ave and the tickets are reasonably priced so I think that means lonnnnnggggg lines at First ave. I hope others are right and that the weather will keep people away.

Don't underestimate Prince fans. There will be people there tomorrow night camped out, believe it. They will wait/place hold in shifts so that everyone will have a chance to cool off, rest, etc. Maybe not 1000 people, but 500 easy, I'd say by Saturday mid-morning I think. Good luck...I so wish I was there! (checked plane tickets in desperation---$1000+ from NYC as of this evening... ) I wonder if they planned to sell the tix right before the Macy's gig to try to "spread the wealth" so to speak...two smaller venues on either side of the big concert so that the people who didn't get Macy's tickets would maybe have a better shot to get 1st Avenue tickets as a "consolation". (Although I'd much rather go to 1st Avenue...he is going to kick y'alls ass in a good way!) It would sort of make sense, except most of the time, I honestly don't think the Prince camp plans anything that thoroughly. lol. . [Edited 7/5/07 21:09pm]

a quick way to (re)solve this whole first ave ticket scenario that i see as otherwise getting ugly real quick is to just make all those pricey Macy tickets good for first ave as well. that solves it easy. Welcome to the New World Odor and

However, 500 people is still less than half capacity for the club. People can only buy one ticket each. My thinking is: Why camp out? It's not like you are getting reserved seating. I suppose this historic show wont see an official DVD release either... Wouldn't you spend 3 times as much on a disc of this show than another cologne?

Another idea would be that only people that purchased tickets to the Target Center show are able to get tickets to First Ave...at least until 12:00a or something? That would prohibit those that are not as big of fans from snatching up all the tix for those of us that are paying big bucks for Target Center.
I too wish this was at Paisley...

I too wish this was at Paisley... Tickets go on sale at 3PM. Target Center doesn't happen until 8:30. Also, if only Target Center ticket holders could go to 1st Ave that'd still be 10,000 people who could get tickets. "New Power slide...."

(if only everyone could be this funny.... ) Anx- get your pole vault ready- you'll need it to jump over all the non-fams trying to take your place at First Avenue! Of course, you could always try and fight them off with 3121 perfume, ! Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"

And I practically grew up in First Ave. From my first all ages show at 15 to Sunday Night All Ages Dance Parties to just about every favorite club show I've ever been to, like, EVER. I've been to the Park. This is exactly the kind of thing to make me FREAK the HECK OUT! Now, I had better be able to get tix. I'm with you on this. I've seen 100's of shows at First Ave, stood on the stage during dance nights and thoughts "This is where it happened, the same stage Prince was on," just a boy when he was actually playing there. I went out to Paisley after the Tamar thing, left angry and don't need to go back. This is a dream come true and I hope all the real Prince and First Ave fans get tickets.

I dunno. It seems like not many non-fams are going to be willing to sweat it out in line for hours for a ticket. Do you honestly think that there will be 1,500 people waiting at 3PM for tickets? I don't think there will be. However, I could be very wrong here..... "New Power slide...."

Solves it easy for all the fools paying $300 for perfume. Thank God he's not just taking advantage of the fams for the 1st avenue one. Hell, I feel like a sucker now for paying $77 for my Target Center ticket.

I really don't think there will be a very long line either. My best friend said she can not be there to get tickets until 6PM. Do you think they will all be gone by them?
I may have to go with my hubby since they are not transferrable. *******All 7 and we'll watch them fall

However, I could be very wrong here..... well I was just joking, but sure, I think some "non-fams" will end up at First Avenue as opposed to the other 2 shows. And since there appears to be a time conflict with tickets going on sale at 1st Ave and the Macy's thing- (which was the origin of Anx's "purplelympics" joke I believe), that may make it easier for them to get tickets. Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"
