Quick thought - people are always complaining that the charts are now made up of "fabricated" artist who only have their one shot of fame and then cool of quickly - well, to me there are quite a few here on the chart who have "staying power" in the sense that they released various albums before and are still in the game. | |

Yeah, he was ahead of him last week, too. I still don't think that Musicology being in the top ten signifies anything other than he had another great week of concerts. I know that there are those that hate it when this is brought up, but I wish Musicology was a mainstay in the top 40 this summer because people actually got their copy at the music store, or online, or anywhere else where a choice was made to buy THE ALBUM. Not receiving it as a door prize for attending the concert. I'm really happy to open my Entertainment Weekly every week and see Musicology listed on the charts, but at the same time I wish that more people were making a conscious choice to buy the album because when he releases his next album, I'd like to see the same success if not better. | |

I'm really happy to open my Entertainment Weekly every week and see Musicology listed on the charts, but at the same time I wish that more people were making a conscious choice to buy the album because when he releases his next album, I'd like to see the same success if not better. that's the whole idea bigbang, some people are only influenced by what they see on the charts, prince knows this more than anybody, the chart position is totally working in his favor for this tour/album, but will also help sell his next album which is probably right around the corner, it's already had repercussions (sp?-sorry tired) on his back catalogue some of which is moving up the charts again for the first time in a decade, despite the many bad business decisions prince has made in the past, i don't think anybody can argue that 2004 has been nothing but perfect from beginning to end, GO PRINCE! | |
