What's Your Hot Take?

Mine is: Girl Scout cookies are overrated.

Also: Hendrix was a really good guitar player. At most.

Tell us your hot take on anything.

Agree with number one but a strong disagree on number two.

#1 Girl Scott cookies are overrate but I'm getting my niece to have a cool experience with her peeps. So I paid too much for these cookies but peanut butter is like heroin to me so the fat guy wins.

#2 Music is all about the context of the times in which it was created. Jimi changed music with his contribution, as well as what people knew was possible on the electric guitar. Not a very good person from what I've heard but that's not what we're talking about.

Christopher Nolan is a really overrated filmmaker.

And

Videogames are the best medium for storytelling.

I kind of agree with that. I mean, he was great at doing those 5 moves that he did. But it gets kind of repetitive.

I do agree to some point. I think his ad-lib dancing at the 30th Anniversary thing (which he was only half awake for anyway) in 2001 was a prime example of being out of your prime. Doesn't mean he couldn't sing, write a song, or think up great stuff. But on his own, he could move, he just didn't know what to do with it anymore. He can certainly groove, keep the beat, stuff like that. But outside of the moonwalk (which wasn't his), or other things he got known for - he never came up with a lot on his own.

BUt if you put him in a position of being choreographed by Michael Peters, Tina Landon, Travis Payne or whoever, then he can do it. He can hit a mark, etc.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Generally, yeah, but I'll kill for a thin mint. Which is weird because I'm a dunker, & they're undunkable.

Britney G is very cute for a giant, & she & her wife make a cute couple. The wife (forget her name) seems sweet.

I don't like vinyl records. Like, at all. I've listened to music on vinyl and then listened to the same album on CD and the CD sounds better to me. No crackle or any of that nonsense. Unless you grew up listening to music on vinyl and still love the nostalgia (like I do with CDs) or you're a hipster millennial, then vinyl records really shouldn't be taking up space in your house.

She's the WNBA Basketball player who recently did prison time in Russia for possession of weed... she's a somewhat masculine built 6'8 woman, with a speaking voice like Barry White or Don Cornelius, but soft angelic facial features..full pouty lips, sad pretty doe eyes, a beautiful light-skinned complexion, and cute curly hair...very pretty smile too.

Here's one that would probably see me hung, drawn and quartered in some circles. But I absolutely believe it to be true, 100%. Are you ready? Ok, here goes;

Star Wars is much better since Disney bought it.

You mean the franchise in general? If that - then yes, I'd agree.

Yeah the franchise in general. Since the Disney buyout we've had the best movie (Rogue One), some great live action shows (Mandalorian, Kenobi & Andor) two brilliant video games (Fallen Order & Jedi Survivor) and they've finally shown Darth Vader to be the badass he actually is. Not to mention bringing back fan favourite actors and characters into the series. Before the buyout, did anyone really think we'd have Hayden Christensen, Ewan McGregor and co not only return to the franchise, but also put in performances that completely blow their previous work out of the water?

And the future of the franchise looks great. The Ahsoka show, Andor season 2, the "Mando-verse" movie etc. Then there's the rumoured Star Wars game from Ubisoft and a remake of Knights of the Old Republic to look forward to as well.

So yeah, it may be considered sacrilege to some, but overall, I think that Disney have improved the whole Star Wars universe tenfold since they took over from Lucas.
