If I'm the Steelers, I take a look at Sam Darnold. I think he can resurrect his career with a franchise that knows what it's doing.
I would be ok with that. Jets would be stupid to pick a QB as there number 1 pick in the draft. QB is not going to change anything, in fact it will pretty much remain the same. They should build around Darnold o-line/Defense but hey I know it's not a sexy pick.
They would have picked the no-brainer (Trevor Lawrence) if they didn't screw up the tank. Don't know if they'd go for the Ohio State QB.
Y'all calling for Tomlin's head...you know the Steelers don't operate that way, otherwise Cowher wouldn't have lasted as long. |

Not that I hate Tomlin but I'm a results oriented guy. His last 3 playoff games spread out from
2015 have been losses. The defense was horrible in those 3 losses. They came into the season
with the worst rb group in the AFC North and fans wonder why Big Ben have been turning the ball
over. You can't throw the ball an insane amount of times and don't turn it over. It's what hurts Drew Brees sometimes and he actually has a rb he can lean on. Steelers OC Randy Fuckner should be
handed his walking papers today. Don't laugh at my funk

Of course you will say that. Tomlin is to chicken shit. Last year they should of picked up RB Dobbins (like phunkdaddy has said). The Claypool pick was to please Ben. Hell even the Ju-Ju Smith pick was to please Ben, we had good WR's and Anotnio Brown at the time. Ben is not the QB he was. The short passses all year long proves it. Playoff loss wasn't all Ben's fault but he did contribute a lot to putting the Steelers in a hole. 4 ints in a playoff game. Horrible. Steelers have not address the back up QB situation as well. |

I've heard that before but the records don't bear that out.
Cowher went to 2 Super Bowls in 15 seasons and had 3 losing seasons.
Tomlin has been to 2 Super Bowls in 14 seasons and no losing seasons.
Cowher has gotten PIT to more AFC title games. Several more. But he won just as many of those games as Tomlin, several of them WITH Home Field Advantage.
Speaking objectively, Cowher's postseason record is better, but in terms of getting to more Super Bowls, can't go there.

This always makes a great debate among Steelers fans on message boards I wouldn't claim Tomlin is a Hall Of Fame coach but at the same time what the hell made Cowher significantly better. Hell he lost 4 AFC championship games at home. Not outside Pittsburgh but in Pittsburgh. Then the good old franchise qb argument comes up but who was the franchise qb for San Diego in 1994 when the Steelers lost. It sure as hell wasn't Dan Fouts. 1997 they led the Broncos much of the game and lost late when it counted. 2001 when they lost to the up and coming Patriots it wasn't because of the qb but because special teams put them in a 21-3 hole at halftime. A blocked punt for a TD and Troy Brown on a punt return. 2005 against the Patriots again Cowher cost the team a chance when down early in the 4th 27-13 on 4th and goal at the 2 he elected to kick a FG instead of going for it to cut it to 7. I was going nuts at home. At worst you don't make it you pin them at their own 2. Both are good coaches who had flaws but Cowher is always gonna be the favorite because he is a Pittsburgh bred guy. Thoughts on Neil O'Donnell?? I always liked him. Wish he would have stuck around a little bit longer. Then the Jets took him. Come to think of it the Jets are always taking some of our big name players Alan Faneca, Santonio Holmes and Levon Dumb Bell. |

I liked O'Donnell. He got a bad rap because of the Super Bowl obviously. Why was he throwing anyway when the Steelers were running the ball down Dallas throat with Bam Morris?
Dallas defenders were literally gasping for air trying to tackle that big dude. Ironically Bam Morris
misfortune off the field led the Steelers to trading for some guy named Jerome Bettis.
Bam Morris was freakishly fast for his size. Don't laugh at my funk

I think the Steelers might of had a better chance going to the Superbowl again if he stuck around. Correct me if I'm wrong but was Kordell Stewart the QB against the Broncos in one of those AFC championship games the Steelers lost at home?? It so I remember Kordell Stewart sucking big time. Wow Bam Morris, yeah I loved watching that guy play football. Was also pissed when Thigpen went to the Titans. |
